Forgot - I purchased a radiator with the factory oil cooler and added the lines. Less than $100 for a factory style oil cooler - yes please

I'll get some pictures up soon.
Got it all back together and took it for a test drive on Sunday. Runs and drives very nicely. I've got some oxygen sensor codes to look at but, other than that shes good.
I'm patching the driver's floor pan at the moment - it had a sheet of floppy tin screwed down with 3 screws, I can do better. don't know if I'm gonna try to weld it or just rivet it in place. I know it should be welded, but it'll take 10x longer lol.
Factory radio only had the tweeters in the doors hooked up, found out it had all Rockford Fosgate replacement speakers in it. Someone burnt out the front channel on the factory radio so I stuck a head unit it, and going to hook up a backup camera. I've been telling the wife I might just order a sub for it.....but I'm done bleeding money atm.

Need some beads in it to make it stiffer.

they have some darned strong panel adhesive out these days that does a really good job.  You could put some of that around the seams and then a few rivets to hold it nice and flat.  Some undercoat on the bottom side and some insulation on top.

New door handle
New Head unit - it was on clearance for $75 - looks like walmart was liquidating stock on Boss audio.  Not normally a brand I'd go for - but it had the features I wanted and it was nearly $150 off the retail price.
The floor - looks much better. I ended up spot-welding it. Seam sealer is drying right now, I sealed both sides. Still need to hit the bottom with some rattle can.

Looks good!  You must have a lot of time on your hands.  I like to use a rust converter on metal with rust to get that magnetite layer on it which then prevents further rusting.

Probably should have hit it with rust converter/encapsulator - I spray bombed it all while I was in there.
Tried some $60 ebay fender flares, and learned why the bushwacker flares are $400. Nothing was correct on the mold. Had to fight to get a return....

Derek was on Tony DeAngelo's show getting a Fairlane GT running that he had bought.  He kept spraying rusty drums and such black.  He said he was making it "new" again.

He's got some nifty tricks.

1st place in age group
2nd place in cub/boy scout boys
3rd place overall

1st attempt and we only had 2 cars faster than us. One was a 15 year old boy scout and the other was made by one of the scout leaders. I only cut the shape, advised on weight placement and installed the axle wheels.
We had the only car that had a nut-sert in it, and a 5/16" bolt holding on washers for weight

Honestly, if we would have polished the axles I think we would have had it.

The lad is happy- all that  matters. "we" polished ours and used graphite lube and max weight to great success...

Lots has happened around here.
Yesterday I sold the 04 Silverado 1500 Reg Cab short box - got what I paid for it 2 years ago.
Picked up another 05 GMC sierra 1500 crew cab short box - cheap. Drove it on the trailer. Frame is cracked. It's an SLT with leather, and is pretty damn clean. Going to horde some parts, sell some, and scrap the rest.

Buying the truck was an adventure. I put a battery in it and it lit right off, we let it run for 30 seconds and moved it out into the driveway to look at it better. I kept smelling fuel but thought it was just running rich, as it's sat for a while. About a minute into it idling my brother told me to kill it. Nylon fuel line not routed properly, spraying fuel onto the drivers exhaust manifold.  :icon_fU:
Needless to say we stood back and informed the owner that he might want to get fire extinguisher.
It turned out to be an non issue but he had paid a shop $300 to fix this fuel line and it could have cost him his garage/house/truck/life
Quick negotiation and we loaded it up.
I have repaired the fuel line so I can run the truck and test stuff before I disassemble.
This video shows the nice repair job: https://youtu.be/_ryb_pqMqTc
