XFI Back To Stock ECM-Help Needed
« on: January 01 2020, 08:00:09 PM »

I'm fairly certain I'm gonna be returning an XFI car back to a stock ECM. I'm tired of locals who don't their asses from holes in the ground about these cars telling others they need cool guy parts when their own cars are turds and are so fukn slow they can't get outta their own way. Rant over.

Okay, I assume XFI is spliced into the ECM harness. Can I remove the XFI wiring and reattach the ECM wires together. TIA.

Brad last year I pulled apart my Gen 2 system to install the Axis under the hood & out of all the wires only 1 was snipped & hardwired into the harness the rest were just the wire taps which I removed & taped up for safety. I Assume the XFI is probably a mix of both so they should be the same I would think?

Thanks Dave. The wires are colour coded...so at worst...I'll have to solder a few together. I think. I'll find out soon enuf.

A lot of broken parts does not make you a racer; it makes you a slow learner.

If you are lucky it has an adapter harness.

Well, what happened? I might be acquiring a GN with one of those aftermarket computer systems. The owner complains he can't grasp tuning it himself and he has to get Hartline to tune it. Hence, he never drives his car. If I buy it, the first thing I'm going to do is rip all that shit out. How'd YOU make out?

Most have it stuck in their heads that an aftermarket fuel management system like XFI will turn their TR into a hell ride. When asked about a fuel management system, I  tell the person to pick something they understand so that they don't have to rely on someone else to set it up and tune it for them. One of the young locals is a wizard with XFI etc, so I fully understand and endorse him using it. Grumpy/Russ went 9.98 at 138 years ago on Erics alky chip. I ran 7 flat at 100 in the 1/8th all day long with Erics 112 race chip on stock junk, 23 PSI, 780/780 for fueling, 36/24 for timing and an easy 1.68 launch. I pulled into the lights last, spooled for 2 seconds and was gone on a quick light. Vids are on my channel. For whatever reason, TR owners love to struggle.
