IHADAV8 Playground / US gasoline?
« on: July 27 2023, 04:13:25 PM »
I know we have discussed this before.  But how much percentage of ethanol does your gasoline have and does it vary with States?

I was watching this one guy called Scott Kimler saying don't waste your money on premium.  I would agree with him years ago.  I have noticed a drop of 4 mpg in my gasoline Colorado.  I changed the O2's, map and did a combustion cleaning and still got the same milage.  Once I put some premium in I got my milage back.  I didn't have to fill it with premium, all I needed was about 30% premium to get my milage back.

Thoughts?

IHADAV8 Playground / A New Best Milage with the BabyMax
« on: June 27 2023, 02:43:33 PM »
I ordered a catch can for my 2.8 Duramax.  I decided to go to Grand Forks do a little shopping and pick up my catch can at the border.  From the house to the Border I managed a 5.9L/100km, but there was almost 30 km of construction so I was a little under the speed limit.  When I left the border it was sitting at 38.87 usmpg.  I was doing 70-72mph on the freeway and held a consistent 35.9 usmpg 90% of the way.  As I pulled into Grand Forks it was sitting at 36.0 on the money.  Driving around brought it down to 34 usmpg.  When I left GF I was doing 75-80 mph and my milage was starting to dip so I decided to hold steady at around 66-68mph.  That got me back up to a little over 36 mpg.  From the border to home I got a best of 5.5L/100km or 42.76 usmpg.  Again, the construction really helped getting that.

Round trip 452.9 km and total average of 6.5L/100 or 281 miles 36.187 usmpg.  I always have to rub it in to my Boss whom is so liberal he would probably marry his bicycle if he could.  He used to give me a hard time about my diesel truck.  Which will no doubt destroy his Toyota Camary in the milage department! :icon_lol:

What do you guys think?  Pretty damn good for a 5000lb Truck!

Have you guys checked this car out?  Absolutely amazing!  I love the high revving 5.5 L with the exotic sound.  Once I get closer to retirement I might consider buying one.

What are your thought?

IHADAV8 Playground / Crazy Times We Live In...
« on: August 10 2022, 03:08:36 PM »
Crazy how times have changed in the last few years with the supply chain shortage, especially in semi-conductors!

My buddy traded in his 2019 Denali HD 2500 last year for a new one.  The dealership kept calling him a few months ago asking if he wants to sell it, which he replied, no.  A few weeks ago that asked him to trade it in for a brand new one and they will give him $4k.  So, of course he did that.  It is crazy to think he got a new truck and cash.  I believe they wanted to sell the truck in the US and you can't sell a brand new one across the border.  So, he has a new truck with longer warranty now.

IHADAV8 Playground / Took the BabyMax on the US Freeway
« on: August 05 2022, 11:08:22 AM »
I did a trip to the States a couple weeks ago.  I set the cruise at 75mph.  I averaged 6.9L/100km for most of the trip but I did hit 85mph 4 times passing.  Overall I averaged 7.2L/100km both ways and there was a slight head and side wind.  So, overall I was impressed with the milage this 5000lb truck returned.  It gets 18mpg more than my 4cyl gas Colorado at the same speed! :icon_lol:

IHADAV8 Playground / Spring Snow Storm!
« on: April 14 2022, 02:58:33 PM »
I was so looking forward to spring because we had way too much snow this last winter!!  The streets were dry a week ago with a few snow banks left.  I had little pile in the yard just under a foot tall but it was melting fast.

Now they are calling for 50-80cm of snow!  It started yesterday.  When I got home from work yesterday I started shoveling very wet heavy snow.  And today I shoveled twice.  My arm is killing me from all this shoveling.

I can't wait for spring!!!

IHADAV8 Playground / Snow???
« on: February 08 2022, 12:38:14 PM »
For the guys out there that live in an area that gets hit with snow, how much did you get?  We currently have 43 inches and are expecting more!  My arms are tired from shoveling.  And of course you'll get people saying, global warming.  Which my response is or Mother Nature.  We didn't have much rain in the summer so we are making up for it this winter.

IHADAV8 Playground / What is everyone paying for gas or diesel?
« on: October 24 2021, 02:41:52 PM »
Gas prices appear to be at an all time high.  Here we are paying $1.429/liter for gas which equates to $5.41 us gal.  Diesel is $1.359/liter which works out to $5.14 a gallon.

IHADAV8 Playground / Chevy's new Truck interior
« on: October 14 2021, 05:24:04 PM »
Have you guy's seen the new GM truck interior?  About time they stepped it up.  Apparently, the new Canyon should have a similar one.  I would trade mine in for a new one with the exception that there is no more diesel. :(

Anyway, roll up to 1:24 on the video and tell me what you guys think?

IHADAV8 Playground / Semiconductor shortage...
« on: April 29 2021, 11:21:13 AM »
I've been trying to buy a truck for the last year.  I couldn't find what I wanted because of the covid shutdown.  I finally ordered one last December and still don't have it.  It apparently rolled off the assembly line on Feb 22.  But with the shortage of semiconductors I believe they stole parts off of it for more profitable Trucks.  And I am having a hard time buying a new computer as well.  :(
