-
Dunno yet. Could be fun.
-
The dates are the week of May 14-19....let me know I am going to try and talk to my friend who works at a Marriott in AZ. She can get me some rooms at a discount. I will call her in the next few days to see what she can do.
I know my car will not be ready but, I will be running Bryan's car his 85 Hot air, plus since my parents have moved down here now, they will be watching the kids for Bryan and I.
We are not sure what dates we will be going, depends on Bryan with work, mostly we go Wednesday to Sunday when we lived in IL. Now, we live here it is only around 3 1/2 hours instead of 8 1/2. But we are prob going to leave Sat Morning (early), because it is my Daughters B-day (she always had a little party at the track).
I cant wait to race Friday at night, that is the best!
Let me know what everyone wants to do, we have a big tent for the cars so there is lots of shade for them and us. :psix;

So...did I kill this thread or what? lol
-
Thats too close to the Nevada trip. I can't do both. I'd like to make
it to one of the later Buick events, if I can.
-
What are the dates for the Nevada trip? That is where everyone is doing the Ela right?

Yup, I don't know the specifics at this time, but I know its in May.
-
I think that would be real cool to do, I think it will take us a few days to get out there.
-
I'll fly. Sooo much easier.

I'll fly. Sooo much easier.
Im chicken shit, I HATE flying. That just scares the crap out of me. Would love to go to Hawaii, but not until there is a road across the Pacific Ocean to get me there.
-
I love flyin' Take off is like drag racing in a really fast cah. You feel the "G"s
holding you into the seat. Its a rush. I almost always try to get a window seat, cause I love to look out the window and see what stuff looks like from in the air. When its
cloudy, it can be boring after a while because you don't see much. You should try
it at least once to see how you do with it. You may like it.
-
I agree, I like the take offs, but I cant handle sitting in the sky with all the turbulance. I have flown 4 times in my life and NEVER will do it again, it was all bad, one time Bryan and I were coming back from Vegas, 2001 and we hit a bad thunderstorm.. at that point, I told Bryan that I will NEVER fly again. My family wants to take all of us to Italy and I refuse to fly. Cant do it. Nope. Never. lol
-
I hit some bad turbulence on the trip bavk from Vegas the last time I went.
I had planned on sleeping on that flight, but the turbulence was so bad that I couldn't At one point it was shaking the plane side to side enough to slam my head
repeatedly off the side of the plane. It was brutal, but it didn't scare me. The flight
out there was as smooth as glass though.

Days Inn in Bowling Green is $54 for the weekday and $59 for the weekend. Holiday Inn was running $107.00 per night, and Amerisuites $89.00 per night.
We are defiantly going. I will be racing Bryan's 85. Looks like my car will miss another year. Hoping it will be done once the garage is built....
Got to get a bucket, KFC went out of Business out here. :newbucket1:

Awwww hell, we have another cook! :D I'm still not going. I may not even make it to Nevada in May. I plan on going but if this land purchase comes in the way....I'm going the way of the land. My plan to be debt free in 08 is comming to light.

Yep found a little piece. nothing to brag about but it'll be mine. I want to pay cash for it and not get a loan. If it's going to take me too long to save the money I'll get a small loan...if not...pay it in full. I've only been working two days a week...it'll take me an extra couple months to get the money. I'm also thinking to just use the money to pay my car off and get a loan for the land. We'll see in a couple months.
-
Oh, and May is still a strong possibility for me. I just cant say for sure.....but if I missed out on Brians Carne I'd be sad.

Huh? Carne asada?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carne_asada
I make the real deal. I've heard in Texas the carne asada is ground beef. :vom: I like soaking the meat in malt liquor before grilling it.
-
Oh, lol, I thought she was talking about the SSC.

-

SSC!
-
I'm sorry to anyone that was left out of the loop. We talked alot about it in Anaheim. I know it's been mentioned but probably not enough for anyone to really catch.
Now that we have everyones attention....l ol...I always wanted to say that!!! :D
Sometime in May, RacerX is going to race his Vette in the SSC. I believe in the 120mph class. He's going for his third first place trophy with Sylvan as his co-pilot.
On the first day theres going to be a dinner for the racers, second day there going to get ready for the race and head just north of Vegas for the start of the race. On the third day....the race begins and ends...On the fourth day the trophys and dinners are held befor everyone leaves to go home.
-
We are listening "Mr. Robert". lol
That is so freaking cool. :supz: Good luck "Mr. Racer X" . If any of you go, make sure you get videos or picts of some kind.
-
We'll post them like Brian posted the Zap pics.
I may have to buy a video camera. Video taped moments are great memories.
As always, everyones invited. You can probably go to www.hotrodbuic k.com for more info.
-
I have an old vcr tape of the SSC and it looks cool as shit. Although they did have a wipeout of a Ferrari Testarossa and the driver and his wife bought the farm, so be careful X and have a blast. Your a lucky guy most people like myself only dream of actually racing at the SSC. Or should I say both you guys are lucky. :prayer:
-
Anyone can race KMA. If I was still in Vegas I bet I'd be racing....just to say I did it.
-
I know, I just don't have a vehicle that could withstand 92 miles of flatout fun. I think the TTA would blow up....never had it past 100!!! Plus its going to the shop for brakes,struts, shocks and oh yeah a tranny rebuild(know a good local rebuilder so if it screws up I can bring it back to him to fix). So you can guess I'll be BROKE for awhile. :rofl; I wonder if I could run my company van.....probab ly wouldn't break 100 either. :redfaced;
-
Maybe we should do it and bring my Mustang, no problem hitting 100 mph :)
-
I'll vouch for this. I nailed 100 in my dad's '04 Mach One in third. I was too afraid to power shift it into 4th (I was on a local avenue). I later chirped them on the freeway slamming down to pass. I wish the GN was a stick. :(
-
Just to be clear on the Silver State race in May...
The Buickheads are assaulting Ely Nevada in May for the Silverstate Classic. Sylvan and I both have ties to Ely Nevada and we decided that it would be cool to go there together. Of course it would be NO fun without all the Buickheads there, so we made it a 'thing'. Aaaaand since we were going we thought we might as well race and if we are going to race we may as well win the damn thing.
I no longer have a Vette or the BMW, so I have to scramble to get a car and get it ready by May. The NASCAR is out since it has just the one seat.
More info can be had here: www.sscc.us
Stay tuned...
-
I noticed that they have ham operators helping. I'll have
to bring some equipment to listen in. I thought that was an SCCA event ?
-
I dont know any local people KMA.
-
What are you gonna drive RX? Your truck?
