Pypes exhaust

Getting ready to install.Ive noticed that the tail pipe hangers don't have enuf meat to slid into the slot.Does this mean that I have to fab something to make this work?Seems like nothing goes together easy like it should. Maybe its the age thing.Thanks.

Well upon more and carefull reading,They don't go in slots like the old ones did.They want u to lag the pipe hanger onto the rail.Ill see if I can come up with a different solution.Thank s any ways.

the hangers dont go into the oe tailpipe hangers
they go at the back of the muffler under the muffler clamp and they attach to the angled  frame brace above

From what I've read it will be easier if you start at the back and work forwards.

Charlie Im not talking about sex.I did go to the other board and did a search and found a picture.Tail pipe w/ hanger hooks on the frame.Thats where Im starting.Tight squeeze on ur back.The wife is on her back trying to help.Mmm this might take longer than I thought :icon_lol:

Would band clamps help with that?

Does SlummetRacing or Jegs ship to Canadia without killing you on postage?

The only downside is that you have to get the more expensive clamps since it's a stepped fit.  I know Advanced auto parts lists them too. (I can't remember if they have stainless or not though. I ended up getting mine from Jegs).   If you have an Advanced there and find the clamps, pay for them online and enter TRT30 in the discount code box for 30% off.

Rockauto are about the best , otherwise I usually don't even try.
I try to work way ahead and have stuff sitting at a mail drop in bordertowns then pickup every few months.

The band clamps I usually get from a place that does Big Rig custom exhaust here,
Prices were competitive, just not close to home.

I give the Summit part number to my guy at the local speed shop. If he doesn't have it in his warehouse then he usually gets it to me in 72 hours.

Not many of them left around...unfor tunately. I get my race gas from Karbelt in Pickering...an d my speed parts from the Karbelt in Oshawa.

I installed the Pypes exhaust about a year ago, It came with lag bolts as you said. I just ended up leaving my old Hooker exhaust tailpipe hanger bolts in place, and yes they are longer and fit great. I didn't have any problems with the length on any of the pipes tho.
I used the stock factory clamps and rubber isolaters to hang the mufflers as my factory hangers were in great shape still.
Just had to make up my own catalytic converter hanger or test pipe.
1987 GN 3" ATR downpipe,PTE TA 49 turbo, adj. wastegate,adj. fpr. Art Carr shift kit 2 1/2" Hooker ex. 3" Hi flow gutted cat, aero chamber muffs. 9"K&N filter, 60/65lb. mototron injectors,heads pocket ported, 3 angle valve job, LT1 valve springs, 340 walbro fp.hot wired, plenum spacer, 160 therm.
