.500 TV boost valve
.296 intermediate boost valve
B and M large external cooler
Transmission temperature gauge
StageRite transbrake

Sounds like a solid setup.
Are you running it through the radiator in addition to the aux cooler?
I'm sure your guy knows to put the 700 spring in there with the boost valves.

This is the one I used though I have read that Jake reccomends a pink spring.
Helps get/keep the pressure up.
Red clutches? I like raybestos stage 1 red in direct with the thick steels to absorb the heat. Might even think about some blue ones for your power level. But just the direct. Tans in the rest. My opinion.
Wide carbon band? You need it and it needs clearanced but I'm sure your guy knows of he built the last one.
Whose servo? Ck is the biggest. I'm using a sonnax?
If it shifted well before it should do it again if he sets the clutches up the same.
I am excited. Won't be long and you will be laying down 10s again.

Hard parts and billet stuff is from Chris. My trans guy has done other mods...likely some or all the stuff you mentioned. I bypass the rad and go straight to the cooler...and I keep an eagle eye on the transmission temperature. No idea of the brand of clutches/band...but if I remember on Friday I'll ask him when I pick it up. I ran F fluid in it last time.
-
Rich...what's your recommendation for setting the TV cable for WOT racing purposes? Your recommendation for fluid...and why.
-
Make sure at wot the tv is pulling the valve open all the way when you have the pan off. Probably need a helper to see or push the pedal down.

I had a guy on tb.com post he used this so I bought a pail full and put it in. So far so good. Why you ask? It was cheaper than trans fluid. I did say I am on a budget. It doesn't smell burned and hasn't gotten discolored yet.
If you have the budget n micale pushes dex vi. If my budget wa unlimited I'd give it a whirl but I'm pretty happy with the coastal stuff so far.
Probably need to ask your builder what he thinks, especially if there is a warranty.
-
Apparently Lonnie at extreme recommends B&M quick shift.
I run Mobil 1 dex6 I wait for sales at Cambodian Tire or Wally World.
-
Thanks for the info guys. I'll likely go with the Trick Shift or Dex...and I'll ask the builder.

Jake up in Sanger recommends the low viscosity John Deere Hy Guard and one quart of your flavor of red transmission fluid so you can read the dipstick. It's pricey...
-
Yeah, that's why I bought the multiviscosity as I drive it year round. I looked at hydraulic fluid and there were three viscosity levels that I found with 32 being the thinnest. Also that jd in high n low, and the stuff case ih uses with a 303 in the name. I just chose the coastal stuff because the guy on tb.com said it worked for him. And it was about $50 at the local AutoZone for 5 gallons. Cheaper than a gallon of trans fluid at wally world.
I have read that the b&m trickshift is very similar to type f but that is just hearsay.
I think as long as it isn't getting too hot pretty much anything will work.
-
Just the fax ma'am...just the fax
Recommends Dex
Uses Raybestos clutch discs
Said high gear needed VERY LITTLE air pressure to engage. 2-3 shift will be quick and crisp
Automatically replaces all the bushings to keep everything trued up
Told me to adjust the TV cable like I did last time
Keep a close eye on the temperature

If there's anyone who beats on a 200 any harder than I do...then I'd like to see it. :)

This guy is doing a pretty good job.
I'm excited. Cant wait for some new non slip times.
-
Mine at the track.
-
Nice.
-
Thank God there's others out trashing on these cars!!!!!!!
-
Isn't that what they are for Brad?
-
No comment. :)
-
That's why I bought mine. It got raced every chance I got when the trans was working. Which was hit n miss the first 3 or so years. We had a great time. Then I got married and had kids so my time was limited. Now I have it back together and am enjoying just driving it.
-
Update...for anyone that's interested. :) The new transmission shifts are quicker and firmer...espec ially the 2-3 shift. I'll assume this is due to the billet direct clutch piston and dual feeding high gear. Was gonna get some PL shift data tomorrow at the track...but immediately upon test driving the new trans...the shifter assembly decided to take a dump. Swapping in another one tomorrow. I hate these cars...

Nothing like a tranny that shifts right
-
So my tranny was working pretty well my only complaint was the 2-3 shift. I had done the 2-3 control valve mod when I went thru the tranny prior to having it rebuilt by a local pro. (Sheared the band anchor burnt the drum)
He reversed all the mods I had done to the valve body decided to put my CK separator plate back on and mod the 2-3 control valve.
Whoo Hooo what a difference night and day 2-3 is crisp and quick not the slide in I was starting to get at WOT. When I originally did this mod I had a slight bind at low throttle wasn't kicking the band off fast enough not now 😃

What 2nd servo are you using?
-
Larry, I have a question too. :) What mod was done to the 2-3 control valve? Rich...maybe you could answer this. :)
-
You install a 1/4 cup plug in the control valve bore than delete the spring install the valve. It speeds up the 2-3 shift. I'll see if I can find my diagram it's in the CK shift kit instructions.

Rich I missed your question its the Transgo billet servo.
