The best is a larger diameter , think it’s 12” dual diaphragm brake booster , it’s a direct bolt on

I think I have always used the 9" dual diaphragm booster.  It gives more room to the valve cover.  I have never had a problem but I guess the bigger one that you can stuff in there and still get the cover off, the more storage you will have.

Looks like the G Body booster from the v8 is dual 9" and the 80's B body is a dual 12".  Learn something everyday

A lot of broken parts does not make you a racer; it makes you a slow learner.

I used the vacuum booster from a G-body Monte Carlo.

Stops well, but doesn't power brake very well.

You’ve got to do the sy/ty shuffle. Put it in neutral, foot on the brake firm, rev up high enough that when you lift that you are pulling 30” of vacuum - the pedal should move more with the assist keep it held, and now drop on in gear and build boost

I was under the impression that vacuum was highest at idle. Sounds like I may be wrong. I will try what you suggest.

normally highest when coasting down.  Look at the gauge when you take your foot off the gas and coast for a moment.
