Got the title sorted so it’s inside the barn and on to disassemble time. Big plans for this fine machine

Goals / plans.... Probably different meanings but maybe the same thing.
No real goals for the car. It has a proven low 11 second drive train and the only thing that will be changing in that mechanical recipe will be that the original tranny will be going back in the car as I plan to daily drive this one when it's finished and the overdrive is a must.
Plans for the car: After careful examination of the floor, I'm going to replace some areas in 2 maybe 3 of the 4 floors due to some cancer. Going to pull the engine and tranny as well as the bumpers, fillers, side mirrors, emblems, rear spoiler and all the glass. Then it's off to media blast. The car has had a repaint and want to start with fresh metal. There is some cancer on the lower rear quarters and along the bottom of the doors. Going to cut out and repair those spots. Then body work and paint.
On the chassis: new body bushings, rear shock brace, bushings on all the suspension components, diagonal braces up front from the engine cross member to the frame, stock brakes up front with the bigger wheel cylinders on the rear with aluminum drums with two long shoes installed.
Interior: New carpet, still debating on replacing the seat foam but definitely new upholstery. Replacement lower door panels are a must. Going to need to find the shifter parts in all the boxes as well as the linkage to the column for the neutral safety switch and back up lights.
Outside: thinking of the spoolfool fillers... not set on those just yet but they are nice pieces. Line up the header panel with the hood a little better, maybe just needs some shimming. Reinstall the badging. Nothing extra special on the outside.
Engine and engine management: I have a 6262 that I had on my limited that will be going on as well as TH down pipe with internal waste gate. Just some clean up and touch up paint in the engine bay. I've had great success with the ECU-GN from Bob and Eric on the limited so I'll be getting another one of those blue boxes to manage things.
I have the stock wheels, so I will be cleaning those up and going back with those.
That's about all I can think of at this time. I'm sure there will be more little stuff but hey, it's a living-breathing project so things will come up and minds will change.

That is a thorough reply.
I will admit, the daily driver part got my attention. IMO, a GN can be an exceptional street car. That is certainly why I wanted one. I have seen a couple of astounding examples.

I drove mine daily, even a winter or two. I could not afford another ride, first house, kids etc. Flawless trouble-free performance for the first 15 years at least.

Ordered the floor pans today from rockauto. They are goodmark pieces. I ordered the pans individually so I can cut out what I need and the price was cheaper than the full pan. No need to replace the tunnel so I didn't order the full floor. Made me feel like I was Canadian with the shipping costs...

I would have thought Goodmark or Rock would have had a deal with a shipper for cheap freight given how much they ship

They consolidate loads to Canada to make it a bit more reasonable, maybe they feel they don't need to bother in the US. Summits free shipping won't work? :)

Summit only offers the full panel, left and right full length halves and they do not offer free shipping on these items. Rock Auto was still cheaper with the Canadian shipping prices and buying the 4 individual pans

Had time to get the engine and tranny out this afternoon. Drivers side motor mount made like a log and split even with the bolt removed. Passenger side core support bushing is MIA and the drivers side was trying to escape too. Tensioner bracket ear was broken in two pieces where the bolt goes through to fasten the alternator. Nice set of heads!
Now I’m looking for someone with a lift outside so I can pressure wash the underside and engine bay

Got one done. Two to go.
Lessons learned:
More welding= more grinding
More tacking= less grinding
Body saw is my new best friend
Aftermarket floor pans don’t fit like the one you cut out
Very time consuming to get to fit like you want it to. In and out, in and out
Seam sealer is expensive

Went to replace the body bushings on the PHX and project has a minor detour. #5 bushing on both sides are pretty rotted. #6 was already repaired with a thru bolt inside the trunk. Going to pull the body off the frame to repair...
