My car is still in pieces. Yellow Bullet Nationals is at Cecil Co. this weekend. We are so busy at the shop I don't have enough time to work on the car. Thursday I'm gonna say to the boys: run the shop I have a car to put back together. Heads gotta go back on and I'm doing the vacuum brake conversion. If I wouldn't have had to wait so long for my parts, it would be a piece of cake, the car would've been together 2 weekends ago. Any helpful tips right now would be greatly appreciated. I'm using RJC's steel shim gaskets, ARP bolts and TA performance headers. The PN conversion seems to have the potential for problems. I'm using Casper's vacuum block. New NAPA master cylinder and rebuilt NAPA booster. Mark, I'll put pics up when it's up and running.

You got the right length rod with the pedals?

The PM swap is pretty straight forward - the only really shitty part is getting the new pedal in, lined up and finished.

be sure to use a good sealant on the head bolt threads....kin da screws up the torquing, but....I think some of the teflon versions interfer less.

Be sure to use a thread chaser on the threads in the block and make sure none of them are pulled up out of the surface.

Studs sure make it easier...glue em in the block and use arp lube on the other end.

Up early to get started. Dave, I only have the pedal and bracket. If the actuator rods are different I may be screwed.

You'll be good to go.  You just need the correct pedal, which it sounds like you have.

Thanks everybody. Block threads ready and inspected already. Pulled lifters and made sure they were good to go. All painting and gasket cleaning already done. Now that I have all work orders handed out, parts ordered, tires ordered, emission inspection from yesterday done....Now I can work on the GN.

From a daily driver view, you can cobble the larger front brakes on and the larger swept area will help you on high speed stops as the pads will stay cooler. 

For the average guy, the money would be spent better on some high class slotted and dimpled rotors and some EBC Yellowstuff pads followed by a careful break in.

From a hydraulic standpoint, both the hydroboost and the PowerMaster supply more pressure and this is good for drag racing against the footbrake.  For normal street use, this additional pressure may not really  be all that useful as one does not want to lock up the brakes.

And most of us could probably benefit from an adjustable proportioning valve as we have played with the tire sizes which affects the need for pressure.

If one is a road racer, then he probably is looking at something much larger to handle the heat of repeatedly standing on the brakes and this is another story

Got nothing done today except customer work. Looking real slim for racing this weekend. See if I can get peace and quiet tonight.  Did you ever have one of those days you just want to be left alone and everytime you get bugged you just wanna snap and tell everyone to kiss your ass? That was today.
