do I buy another Racetronix or TT pump?
-
Something happen to the one you have?
I see the other thread. I'd look over the wiring real good. That through the sender bulkhead connector has a pretty small pair of contacts and doesn't take much corrosion to not convey the power.
I have a duetch werks pump but any should work.
-
How old was your Racetronix? So far not heard anything bad about the DeatschWerks, I put them in both cars. I would like to know the real origins of the TT pumps. You can probably still get that Quantum hangar TexasT and I bought if you need one.

If you are going to replace that too id spring for the racetronix bulkhead wiring harness. I think it was about $50 but well worth not having that stock one be a problem. I just used a couple hose clamps to hold the pump on the hanger.

It’s got the bulkhead harness I’ll get it apart tomorrow and get to the bottom of it. Got a old255 Walbro it’s 5 years old but it never quite
-
All of the harness was good pump is open
Can figure out why the pump is open and not shorted out
New pump on the way

I will guess, I am going to have to change my fuel pump again. I changed the oem pump for a Walbro years ago. The Walbro lasted 15+ yrs and about 40 miles. I added a hot wire kit because I was unable to get a full 12 volts at the pump.
For the first time, the car does not idle well when it was started. It shows 34# of pressure, line off. It is not misfiring. It does not want to take throttle like it should.
I would listen to anything/everything. I am not wanting to alter the fuel sending unit if I don't have to.
This car is stock and will probably be sold. That said, I will want this fixed right.

You need to verify you don't have a split hose (or a leaky pulsator) in the tank before you assume it has to be the pump.
...or a clogged filter.
-
years ago, many of the aftermarket pump kits did not come with the correct type of hose that was built to be submerged. Instead, they used conventional hose which begins to dissolve when submerged in gasoline. Buick vendors are not all rocket scientists...
-
I changed the filter which brought the idle rpm up to normal. From memory, I did away with the pulsator.I will take it apart tomorrow and have a look.
This will make 4 fuel pumps, I have changed in 6-7 months. They evidently do not set well. Evidently, the valving goes as the motors all ran.
Thanks for the replies. I am considering a DW 200, as long as it will install w/o modification.
-
30R10 is the ONLY fuel hose that will work.
And make sure the necked down titty is cut off of the fuel pump hanger so you don't lose flow and generate too much head pressure.
-
thank you Earl, you have supplied the name I was looking for-
-
Make sure you're sitting down when you see what that stuff costs.
-
Ractronix pump fixed my problem.car went 11.5 two weeks ago ,with TT default tuneup
-
car went 11.5 two weeks ago ,
That is stout for a Regal size car. Mine is about 500' in a quarter slower than that.
This (your) thread was inactive for a month, I hope you don't mind.

I installed my DW 200 (S), in the oem position. No problem except their strainer would not work. I used the oem style rubber boot on the bottom and clocked the pump for a Napa #B-0052-S strainer. I installed the strainer in parallel w/the float. Possibly, the 300 series would work the same. I did not alter the fuel sending unit in any way.
I will see if the idle problem is going to straighten itself out. It is much better. Too bad I can not drive the car.
