Thanks!

It looks like I will be driving about 4000kms from start to finish... because I live in the middle of nowhere.  My brother is definitely getting some wheel time on the US route.

Big Azz pliers, needle nose and regular pliers, a file, socket set, 1/4 drive and 3/8 drive. Assortment of sockets and wrenches. A few screw drivers, and a couple hammers, I also think duct and electrical tape are a good idea and an assortment of zip ties and hose clamps. Wire coat hangers , radiator hoses(top n bottom, these would be the ones I took off when I put the new ones on for the trip)., cool new aluminum harbor freight jack, and four way lug wrench. I would probably sport two spare tires if I had the room or just use the drag radials as the spares if you were swapping tires for the track runs. Spare fuses, multimeter, and maybe some wire but a lot of stuff can be picked up along the way If needed, so cash and a credit card. Maybe some sensors If you have spares .
Fresh oil/filter change and clean air filter before embarking. A couple quarts of oil, and trans fluid and a gallon of water.

No wonder you got targeted. They saw what you had and probably followed you home.

That's what we thot at first. Had nothing to do with that. What happened to me was a fluke. I could honestly write a book about it. I just pried my truck...unfini shed from the bodyshop where it was sitting for the past 4 months. I'm finishing the repairs myself. That's a story in itself.

Keep the ideas flowing!

I was doing a lot of research on hotels before I started booking yesterday and I avoided the super-cheap motels that most use; and opted into the pricier hotels with my military discount.  Hope to avoid the riff-raff and theft this way; and get better rest.

Every good soldier carries some toilet paper, 550 cord, 100 mph tape, waterproof matches and a good knife on a field problem.
