I'm finally getting around to this motor mount deal, and when I looked at RJC, the motormounts were expensive....l ike way over a $100 expensive. I looked at rock auto, and I'm assuming that I have to be looking at the wrong ones, because they are cheap....Very cheap.  Please explain before I purchase.  Thanks

phil,  I have a driver side h&r poly mount that probably doesnt even have a thousand miles on it.
I run left and right polys and love them.  no more breaking mounts due to torque or being affected by grease and grime.  and no need for a alternator strap.
most people I think get just the driver side and are fine.  I only bought a pass side so my engine sits perfectly level in the frame since a rubber ones thickness can vary.

get some more opinions here for sure,  I'll text you a pic in the meantime

just go to the parts store and buy one of the cheap mounts....you get into the tens, you can buy an expensive one.  Stay away from alternator straps.

also check the tranny rear mount...it's probably gone

Thanks Steve. Tranny rear mount? Guess I can check it.  How much work is it to check the TC bolts?  I want to be sure that they are tight

remove the inspection cover if it still has one, rotate the engine and check each bolt

I built my own poly bushing mount for the engine Phil. Cost me about $40 in material and a little bit of my time.

I need your skills then Charlie!! I have to chase down this tapping that I am hearing.  Im almost 1000% sure something is loose somewhere, but then again, with my luck, it could worse.

my uncle always told me how he dealt with a noisy lifter is turn the radio up louder till he couldnt hear the tapping

I know a stock motor mount works good if its not broke, but after I replaced a broken driver side stocker in my 84 with a new one from napa and it was broke again 200 miles later...  I just decided to hell with it and spend a little extra money and buy a h&r and never bother with it again.
thats not to say I may have got unlucky and bought a defective one

$70, comes with hardware. 
but I think you could probably buy both regular stock mounts for that.  if funds are wearing thin, what are your goals for the car? maybe one of these guys here have some experiance with some known reputable stock motor mount brands

This should give you a better idea Phil. It's really easy once you figure out the parts and do some measuring of where things go.   This moves the bushing to the frame rather than the block and allows me to drop the engine down some as well.
