This is a picture of a RJC biggie puck repear kit weld on arm , the TA kit bolts it’s not that hard to fix and the RJC would work on the TA. I think there all the same.

if it a TA down pipe they have a repair puck and arm to fix a small engineering mistake
you have to call and talk to Tim not one of those thangs he has in his catalog. It a easy repair, WD40 might free it up, but it was worth the effort, it hs never stuck again

Transmissions / Re: Why won't my lock-up torque converter lock up?
« on: April 23 2021, 09:22:42 PM »
I think I would run it for a day or two and do another fluid change then wait  a week and do it again.
The trash came from somewhere, transmission coolers or it has something going south.

I always run B&M non-synthetic tell I could not get it, happy with TCI. Just use a good name brand oil.
5858 makes enough power to hurt a transmission

Looks like I can set it about any where. before I did any thing I was going to take it for a drive and see what would be a good number.
It cranked up ran not long and I noticed the Check engine light on. looked and it was 34 low MAF.
I had removed all the inline fuses and put them in a nice box just cleaning up wiring under the dash.nothing touched under the hood. My multimeter is broken so I could not do the test in the Vortex section. I checked the ECU connection look good,  So I did the next best thing Pulled the LS MAS and translator out and installed OEM code went away and ran fine. PS I tried clearing the code first before I did the swop and it would not clear.Key on engine off made no seance its not running to not clear. I can see maybe if running but Off. Car was good when parked I know we have heard that before but all I did was !!! new meter will arrive this week.

I have a TR6 I can set the rev limiter to say 2500 that should do it.I have not open the box to see if it will go that low. but not I could use the 2step and just use it. need to get a hold of Bob before I try the 2step.
What do you think?

That was my guess to, never tried running it with it open. But the boost controller is propping it open at WFO . I think I’ll contact TT chips. Thanks

I’ll use PASHA it will be inside a large ship designed to ship cars. Out of the weather.Seen a one shipped in a container that got loss and beaten to death and have heard of one getting badly damaged in a container.
Pasha brings most new cars here and I brought one with them from Az ,it was a old Jeep but it was good. Nissan shipped my Altima from Honolulu to the big island on top of the barge it was covered in salt water.
I have good confidence in Pasha just not the clowns driving them on and off the ship.

Will after 20 years in Hawaii I’m heading back to Arizona sometime after September.
Trying to get everything thing ready will prove to be a challenge.
1. Do I leave my nice new Gbody aluminum wheels on or put the OE on?
2. Get a valet chip or just wire the wast gate open ?
3. What other thing would you consider?
Thanks

General Buick Tech / Re: Turbo question

Steve posted a log from my car, that’s running 28 in tires. It’s a solid 11.5 car. And very street able.
I can understand your frustration, but remember it’s a 3.8 liter not 6 liter V8 and a little bit of discrepancy is big. 25 lb boost is up there on a 100 lb spring. I have not done the math but on 1.7 valve it is trying to push through. I have not crunched your the numbers on the Wallace calculator, it a good tool. I like the one that breaks the entire 1/4 down to speed and time. It has taken me 10 years and around a 100 passes to get to 11.5 you can’t hit it hard this year skip a few and expect to start off where you left off. Scooby was at It every weekend for several years to get his car to ET and be on the number every time. I’m convinced these cars need total dedication and attention to detail. I’m up to it because I truly like this car. This is just a pep talk you can do it.

I was really lucky my ported irons and stock ported intake from Champion the fit was perfect. I have a set of aluminum Champion that look like ported irons, I bet the intake ports are the same size and location. Got to love CNC.

I have reread it twice and don’t see your intended ET or use of the car. Don’t see turbo size ether.
I like to see a person use Steve’s vortex section and build from a proven combination.
RJC has some good starting points too. Is Brian (Bison) helping you put this combination together? He has put down some good numbers. I bet it will run good. The quest for speed can be costly if you don’t follow a proven combo. Most good combination have taken lots of hours and money, and were lucky some shear this with us.

Need to send your stock intake to Champion and have it ported to match your Champion heads.
If your not racing it , I personally think you have to much rocker arm ratio. And what roller cam?
I agree with Steve , can’t beat the 6.1 chip.

I hope I’ve forgotten something worth knowing.
