It's a truck, for God's sake.  Put a layer of mud and work on it and you will never know what it looks like.  I swear.  You guys are a bunch of drug store cowboys.  I hope it never gets scratched in the mall parking lot as I am sure you will need mental health care days off.

Growing up in the North if you wanted to go fishing you were basically breaking trail down an extremely narrow road and the truck would get scratched to snit on both sides from the tree branches giving it natures car wash!

When I pay 40K plus for something I expect it not to be ugly?
Do you not wonder at the number of designers and executives that look at that and said "great job"?

So you are buying a truck for it's looks rather than it's performance.  To each his own, I guess, but, when I buy a truck, I want to know if it is dependable and has the performance required to meet my satisfaction.  They all basically look the same to me.

I think all the big 3 are close in utility/ work performance. That leaves me with the other differentiator s.I have a commute that is about double the average so fuel mileage matters. Since I keep them for 15-20 years I'd like it to be reliable AND not ugly.

Buy an old one that matches your bunny slippers. Better look for something small because mileage is not good inbthe real eorld

I really like the 2017 GMC looks.  The new ones have the Tranformer feel to them.  But do have some neat options and are more aerodynamic.

Here's one that might get you that mileage

Up here slightly used trucks sell for as much as new ones and anything old is a rust-bucket.
I would have to buy one from down your way and go thru the import crap unless it is 15 years or older

Wow, how short is that box? I've stuck with the extended cap to get a 6-1/2 foot box. I really need my plywood to to at least be supported by the tailgate, its bad enough what you gotta do with 12,14 and 16 foot material. I really miss having a rear slider to run the long stuff thru.

I like extended cabs...room for a lot of junk in the back seat LOL   Some of the new GMC's, I think, have the rear tailgate that will slide out to make a longer bed or the center folds down to make a step.  I like that but not enuf to spend 60K for a new truck.  4 x4's sell for a big premium down here even when ten years old.  I wish I had bought another one instead of the 2000 2wd I picked up when my 97 150 started blowing water out the tail pipe at 325,000.  I gave it to a friend, who dropped another engine in it that only has 150K on it and it is running like a clock again.

''Lets make the front look like a stack of mismatched cinder blocks''

.....''obscuring the drivers view of 20 feet in front of the truck for no reason is totally worth it.''.

I have a 2018 Chevy Z71 4 x 4 that I will never go off road with and have to use the 4 wheel drive.  Sad but true.

My Blazer is 4X4.  The front driveshaft is sitting on my front porch.

I paid $1200 for it and I think it's still worth $3K.

Those new trucks can suck it.

I wish I had 4x4 sometimes but it's not always needed.  Had a huge over night dump of snow a few years ago around Christmas time.  It took a while to get out of the parking lot at work.  My truck has posi which is good but turning can be a problem when your pushing 1ft of snow.

I can't wait for the Market to crash so I can pick up a new Canyon Diesel 4x4 for a really good price! :D

Did it not seem odd that you could really see the rear of Elon's "truck"? Does it really have a bed?

Retractable cover and tail gate can unfold to be a ramp which is useful.

Did you say you have to fix your glasses? :icon_lol:   What's not to like about a 4' bed.  And his truck can tow.  I can just imagine the distance in the middle of winter.

I do like Elon's forward thinking but he does make big promises like building cars quicker than the GM and Ford production line.  Then there is the huge down payment and wait time to get one of his vehicles.  I guess that explains the 2 days of profit he made in 17 years!

The model of Huge down and extended wait makes me thing of a furniture store. That is my first question after the wife makes her choice. "do you have it in stock so I can take it home today?"
