Just saying, if you're foolish enough to race your car in hot humid air, cool the charge with alky to make up for it.

Notice it took till 86 mph to get cooler versus the 66 mph originally listed.

You will gain nothing going from 113 down to 95.

Cool the air with alky.

Those things are a freakin' blast. Drove a turbo one, couldn't stop smiling.

I bought an Audi A5 for a daily a few months back. Poon-tang magnet!

Spraying alky with 24psi. Pump gas.

 If I managed a 1.6 off the foot-brake,  Most were 1.7-8.

Mine liked fuel in the last 1/8. I ran it at 11 ish Air/fuel ratio and it gained the most. Every car is different.

FYI, it hooked the best with the DR's with less than 20 psi in them.

Silly question, is there a converter still in the exhaust?

Take all the air out of the bag and pull more first gear fuel. By the time your mixture catches up to the boost, it starts to make decent power. Before that, it's too rich / can't burn what's there. That's why boost comes up/blows the tires off a few feet out.

I used to run 115 mph on a little 49 and stock cam. Stock everything in the rear. 26' D/R. 11.8's all day.

Damn Son! Blow off valve for any motor raced regularly with expensive parts in it.

It's too hot to race anyway. Just leads to disappointment .

To further drive home the point that not everyones' A/F ratio is/should be the same, my car always liked more fuel.

If I leaned it out to an 11ish ratio, it slowed down.

10.6 was the number spraying alky that it seemed to go quickest and felt strong. If you watch fast cars on the track, most are spewing black smoke at some point.

These guys are lucky to have your knowledge to "lean on". Get it? Thanks Steve.

Not having a TB any more for me is a shame but back when I did, I read your posts countless times 'till it sunk in.

Stock cams go mid 11's all the time. Fact. Ported heads are nice to tell your friends you have them. Cost too much to go a couple tenths quicker on a street car. The more you build it up, the higher you push the envelope. I would want to build it one time and not have to dig into the engine again for years.

Spend your money building it stockish, get a decent turbo, intercooler, 60 lb injectors, tight converter, alky kit, wide-band and good downpipe. Be able to watch what's going on in there with the right scan tools.

JMO.

Sounds more like the right head gasket is blowing compression out the side.

Pull the heads.  :O

Rod bearing flat isn't what he's hearing I don't think.  :icon_neutral:

Stainless ATR with pit-bulls on my old car.

Tried it once, Car went exact same 11.8 and mph.

Depends on what mufflers but you know that.

Ok,

I'm a little slow.

Think of this for a second. When your brain says mash the gas, the T.P.S. is instantly to 4.6v (showing on whatever scan tool), by the time everything else catches up to the new fuel/alky requirement, a second or two has gone by. Agree?

I've always tuned to stay ahead of it with more fuel sooner and lived with the slight rich condition once in a while.

Beats changing head gaskets.

Steve Wood learned everything he knows from me! Shit, I may have that backwords.

I know that I see a video that shows full throttle, 4000rpm and 4 psi?

Why so slow to build boost?

My car was like a on/off switch and from a slow roll burned the tires straight through 2nd gear.

I'm a little confused. You're at full throttle yet boost is really slow to come up?
