Is the new converter lockup or non lock? If its NL you need to get the nonlock valve kit. Its cheap. Also highly recommend putting a drain plug in your pan. You will thank yourself later!

My first aftermarket converter was a 10" PTC NL. I called PTC and spoke to somebody who I cant recall and it was too loose. It would 60ft in the 1.50s off the footbrake but slipped about 15% at the traps. I was able to break into 11s with it though. I spoked to Dusty and sent it back to be tightened up. Then I could barely spool car on brakes and lost 60ft. Also it was still blowing through it at the traps with same 15% slip. He mentioned once you really start putting down the power the 10" cant hold it.

Finally bit the bullet and had Dusty spec me a 9.5 PTC NL. He got it right on the money. Way more efficient up top with 5% slip. Loose on the bottom to build over 15lb boost on footbrake. Cost double the price of 10" but well worth it if your looking for your best numbers. Just do your research so you dont buy a converter and then pay for restall and then buy the one you should have got first. Plus the fact of pulling trans out 2 or 3 times like I did.

Scoobum. I looked at my log again. I see the O2s get to about .740 or so at the traps, but I looked at WB and it was actually a little fat  for my 11.30 target and the BLM isnt really throwing fuel at it.  I will try to lean out low gear a little and see if it will pick up in the 1/8th next time. I need some 1/8 times like yours!! I think the car has a low 11 in it with some better air and tune. Vegas elev is 2100 and our DA is almost always shitty like 4500+. Not sure exactly how much DA has an effect on turbo cars though. I also would like to get my boost a steady 27-28 through the entire run instead of starting at 25 and creeping up to 28.

Since I went with the wideband tracking chip I havent paid much attention to the O2s. I just watch the BLM and see if the chip is either adding fuel or taking it away and watch for knock. Now that you mentioned it Im going to have to look at my logs again lol.

Thanks.! I started logging before my burnout so I dont forget :) I posted a screenshot on the fb tb.com page about the MAF and Dusty responded the MAF is ok, just resetting because Im flowing more air than it could read. It should pick up some more time with a few tweaks and better air. I would also like to fix the boost creep so I can run 27-28 across the board from the start. Its nice when they are running well!

If anybody looks at my PL log, I just noticed on the MAF graph it looks like it cut out twice for a split second. Its also happened once on my other log. Does that mean my stock MAF is taking a dump?

Went to the track last night here in Las Vegas. Air temp was 90' at midnight and DA was about 4450. Ran 3 passes. Best of 11.46 @115mph. was fighting with my PTC 10" converter and ended up going with 9.5. My slip at traps went from 15% to 5% at only 5000rpm. Dusty nailed the converter. Car should pick up more time with some good cooler air and if I can straighten out my boost creep. I havent posted for a while but appreciate the help on here from several people over the last few years Ive had my GN.

And the PTE cost about double what a used CAS V4 costs if you can find one. I know a guy here in town with the PTE SLIC, looks like a very nice piece. From my hours of internet reading both should be able to support very low 10s so I have some room to grow.
