Well, I'm told it will be 6 to 8 months before I'll be putting any pictures in this thread ( !!!    !!! ), but I filled out the spec sheet for my custom order at the local Jackson dealership today.

I just bought an old Carvin X100b today.

Fuck you a hundred times Rob! LOL

Those are some of the sweetest fucking amps I've heard in my life. I love how Carvins sound, you can almost feel the tubes popping out at you, they're so responsive. I'm still rocking my Quad-X preamp but I want to find a back up one in case I fry it.

Good score!

The Quad X is supposed to be the balls. I've heard countlessaccol ades
about the x100b's clean channel. I actually bought it because my rack setup
can't produce a heavy enough sound for the music we've been playing. Our rhythm
guitarist has a Crate tube amp that blows my rack away. His sound is absolutely
Killer. Then again my setup is about 20 years old now. I'm hoping the
X100b will meet my needs untill I can afford something better. I'm looking for
a Pantera/Lamb of God type of sound.

Here are the pics from the auction.

LOL Oh man, hell is coming!

Rob, you probably won't find a better tubey sounding amp. But IF you do, I'll take that Carvin off your hands. ;) Make sure you run it through a high wattage cab, as something like Celestion Greenbacks won't let it's full potential shine. It'll probably sound damn good through a low wattage bass cab without tweeters.

I'm having a GNX-inspired Rhoads made. RR1, USA, neck through, painted neck, black on black on black except for the neck/headstock binding and the sharkfin inlays which will be GN interior grey. Seymour Duncan, Floyd Rose Pro, killswitch installed, yadda-yadda-yadda. In 6 months or so when I pick it up, I'll be affixing a GNX trunk emblem to complete the bitch. They are supposed to be calling me back this afternoon with the official price....I'm told to expect between 4 and 5 grand. Half down and half due when it's done. I'm gonna go beat off now.
