My suspicion is that the NA parts may work out OK too.

Are you using a volt booster?

Are you using a volt booster?

Yes sir. Caspers V Plus...and it's working. You can see it jump 2.1 volts at WOT on PL. It's crossed my mind too.

My theory is the NA modules can't handle the extra load from our boosted engines. Got home from work too late today to get a correct module from NAPA here in town. I'll get one Monday morning. I have another NA one here that Steve deciphered to be from a NA 1989 Ciera. Wonder if I should swap it in and make it puke...just to prove my theory. I could swap the correct one in at the track when I nuke it.

What about a module from the supercharged 3800's? I don't know the years or models maybe someone else knows

I suspect the volt booster shortens the life of them. Anyone remember which mfg didn't have the tach lead working?

Reading tells me the VDO tach won't work with them. I have a an Autometer. John Spina has a writeup on the other board how to wire the aftermarket module to work with an external tach.

Seems we are down to the Delco, the BWD/Wells part (via NAPA?) or the Standard Auto LX338T.
+Whoever "True-Tech" are- they use the same part numbers as Standard.

BWD can be had through Parts Source...which I think is an arm of Canadian Tire.

Wells often has a very bad reputation for this kinda stuff.  I would stick to Delco or Standard, myself
