He's up here with me. Dan and I have an upholstery guy up here we use. Hand stuff to him and pick it up in a couple of days.

The guy I used here local to do the custom seats in the Wagoneer quoted me $400 to install the covers in the limited. As I see it, I saved $400.  Ken wanted to pay me for installing his covers but I wouldn't take his money.  One thing I learned years ago, once somebody pays you, then they can tell what and how to do stuff. Do stuff for free and nobody complains because you didn't have to do it.

jason, don't worry you already told me where to get them.   I'm thrilled to see the savings in buying them.   If I was within 10 hours drive I'd definitely come and visit, but I'm up in Scoobs part of the world.

Finally got around to driving the limited a little today. Cruised around town to evaluate the new seat covers. Seems to me that the there is a little more pillow back cushionthan I'm used to.  I expect with time that the cushion will relax a bit at least I hope it does. Non reclining bench seat sitting almost vertically upright feels more like I'm sitting in a classroom. Maybe I'll just pretend that I'm teaching a class called " I'm about to smack that ass!"

Some 1.5 launches shoving your ass into will relax it.

Dropped off the converter and tranny at Jakes today.  I decided to have him put in the non lock up kit as well as loosen the converter and make it a non lock up as well. I'm slowly headed to the dark side

A lot of broken parts does not make you a racer; it makes you a slow learner.

Tranny and converter are ready to be picked up.  Just my luck I'm at work this week. Told him I'd get it next Thursday. He said the overdrive clutches were a bit on the burnt side. I'll get more details when I pick it up.

If you guys are looking for a pretty rewarding career, become a helicopter pilot. My company has 55 pilot positions open. Since oil and gas started hiring again, lots of fella's went back to good money but it won't last. The EMS side seems to be recession proof but not oil and gas. I've been covering a lot of shifts to keep the bases in service and provide the access to the communities that the aircraft serve but damn I need some time off. Told the powers that be that I needed the week off after this hitch to get ready for the ford vs buick event.  Thankfully they obliged.

Tranny and converter are back in and road tested. WOW! What a difference!  Boost is almost instant. A whole new driving experience. Now to hope that the suspension is set well enough and tires hold.

Ford vs Buick is Nov 4th.  Will get some track time there
