He is/was doing State Vehicle Inspections.  North Carolina checks a lot more than just brake lights. I would think it is a state requirement to be insured to do that.

A lot of broken parts does not make you a racer; it makes you a slow learner.

You would think so, but he's horrible with money, and I doubt he had the due diligence to get (and KEEP) insurance.

Lonnie is working for him now as an employee I believe and I'm sure Lonnie will bail out in the next year. Brian is supposed to handling the business end of it. :O
And remember, when dealing with children, silence may be golden but duct tape is silver.

I was "excited" when I first read the title of this post...I saw My First Bitch and thought this was going to be another Earl type porn thread

Have you any idea how hard it is to come up with a 'first' anymore???     Where does one even get a giraffe and/or a large scale model of the Death Star that's impervious to various oils?

Might be your way in....

I would call the NCDOT and say you were thinking about having emissions work done there but you'd like to make sure he's insured and has all the correct certifications .  I would imagine that info has to be pubicly accessible. Much like how fast food places have to have their inspection ratings in plain sight.
