Ah, the joys of winter. At least I get my exercise by shoveling and I enjoy driving in the snow.
Anyone here have a snowmobile? Steve? A good way to herd goats. You can set it up as a grass dragger.
-
Winterpeg lives up to its' name.
-
I use to have Yamaha Phazers. Would go up to my buddies place just south of Sudbury. Use to do open water and stupid shit like that.
-
10 or 12 guys race sleds at SMP. I hate racing against them. Fuk they're loud.
-
Only hit 80F here today. That's not even 27Canadian. :(
I hate wintertime!
-
It was 24'C the day I put on my winter tires. It turned cold the very next week.

Those were probably pretty nice machines. I have two 81 SRX 440's but one has the 540 Vmax motor in it. I use to smack Indy 650's with them. Definitely didn't have the ride of the Indy but the 440 would easily buzz to 12k or more, even though the tack only went up to 12K I seen it go past that mark. :icon_lol:

Now it is cold! Yesterday when I woke up it was -21, -35 with the wind. Today is pretty cold too. :(
-
We got a weird storm last night - 'tunder and lightn', high winds, and hail.
-
18F overnite here. Daytime temps spose to go back to 43-44F on Sunday.

Damn you Southerners!

Balmy Canadian weather.

Froze my arse off changing a burnt taillight today

Y'all got me scared of northern winters. The two freezing days a year we get down here is enough for me. I can't even check my mail its so cold. My dog won't even go outside, I gotta put him in the bathtub to pee.
SW can verify this because when he leaves his goats out their teets freeze solid, fall off like icecicles and he don't have milk for his coffee. The only times I've ever known SW to open his home to his goats.

My brother & sister in law came up from Florida for a few days. Being from Orlando & 85* & humid last week she was hoping for snow. Wed night 50 miles north of Toronto in Uxbridge they got almost 3 inches snow so when she saw that she spent all day making snowmen ext. My brother not so much. It's gone already but she sure was happy to see the snow!
-
They're closing schools down here, told y'all we don't go outside when it gets cold.

Growing up in the North north that always makes me laugh. I remember walking to school in -50'C. You don't see too much wildlife in those temps. You think they would cancel school at those temps. Here is the city it doesn't take much for them to cancel classes. Damn, our generation was tough!
And frostbitten.

Candyasses, pbbt, we got a blizzard comming!
Wat now son?
I live at the bottom of the 1 on the 10 interstate sign.
Between Gulfport and Pascagoula. Send presents!
-
A whole 1 inch...oh for fuk sakes...
-
We only ended up with 10th of an inch.
I was watching the local news this morning and I understand why y'all laugh at us. They had reporter's out in different locations reporting on conditions. Just like we were having a hurricane.
One news lady got road rage and yelled a little at a driver 'DRIVING TOO FAST FOR CONDITIONS!!!' as she turned her body pointing at the truck lol. He was prolly going 25. I'm imbarrased. :D
-
The news said you got some Black Ice & it will really mess up traffic, that stuff is no fun at all.
-
Yeah, round here black ice = ditch.
I'm a very safe driver and even I've spun out or lost control a couple times over the years. I don't know if y'all have black ice but it's super sneaky.
The good news is there are tons of winches down here and it don't take long for us to pull someone out. I love rescuing but my jeep isn't heavy enough.
-
Looks more like ice crystals than snow

man hush, that's snow! Ruin my christmas. :(

It is just the contents of a snow cone machine.
Don't eat the yellow snow...

I've had to drive 5 hours or more on black ice just to get to the city. Just don't accelerate around corners!

We’ve got 6-8” coming today. I might have to get the snow blower out
-
We got a solid 6" yesterday, plow guy did an okay job - but left me some work. It is -22*C this morning with the windchill, had to put a thin fleece liner under my raincoat. It was -17*C earlier this week and I left the office in a t-shirt.
Ya'll are wussies.
-

he said 'might' don't forget your fleece! cute.
-
Fleece? It’s below 0*F here with windchill.
I just finished we have have 6” already, supposed to snow until midnight. So probably another 6” comin. I had my arctic carhart gear on.
-
I don't even know what fleece is
I'm imagining something like a cute jumper complete with a scarf and hood? Women's long johns? Not manly but '$20 is $20' when its that cold.
-
Nope just really well insulated carharts. Coat and bib overalls. They are so thick they pretty much stand on their own, and it’s not easy to sit in them, but they keep you warm.

I’m sure some Canadians have stuff made of polar bear fur, filled with penguin feathers, and lined with caribou skin.

It's what you hang onto when you are ahh, and a quote from REM, oh no I've said too much.
-

I have my arctic parka, snow pants, and mukluks in the basement. Because some days it happens to be that cold.
Having had slept in an improvised snow shelter it is nice to wake up to something cozy.
And yes, I have a fleece camo onesie.
-
I cant say nothing, i remembered i have a carhart onesie with a snap on hood  and 'shitkickers' that match. I wish I woulda bought the bibs instead, that's the way to go.
-
We have about a foot total here. Snow blower ate something and a sheer pin broke. Of course it’s the one you can’t get to, without splitting blower from the engine and removing the auger drive assembly. What a pain in the ass. I was tempted to put a grade 8 bolt in it.
-
-7°F this morning... Made for -30°C with the windchill. Imperial and Metric, bitches!

Yeah...had to put on a hoodie. No biggie.

Rompers
-
Not much snow on the ground here. Spose to be 40F Monday and Tuesday.
-
It is like -40°C right now and the sun is rising - causing the house to creak and groan - and it is freaking me out, man!
-
13 below zero F here. Frost is 'heaving' the house. Gotta push on the front door to move the dead bolt.
-
Its damn cold here too. The wind dropped off thankfully.
-
A nice -44 here today with the wind. Went to my aunt and uncle's out of town for Christmas and I guess my uncles plug in didn't have power. Truck struggled to start but it did. Then it went into low power mode, which I never heard of before and I could only get 12 mph out of it. Luckily I was able to reset the ECM and it worked again, otherwise it would have been a long road trip.

Check YouTube. Low power mode is usually the TPS. Happened to one of my trucks.
-
It was actually the low battery that set it off. I already verified the battery tripped the code. I put the battery on the charger 2 nights in a row and the check engine light cleared and everything seems good now.
-
Rough morning! I told my buddy at work, not to lock my truck because I had to reset the power locks and it takes 2 days before it starts working again. He locked it and my manual lock was frozen. It was only -44'C this morning. It took about an hour to get it open but I was able to. Just before that I looked at a steam coil at work and it was frozen and spitting water out of the bottom. It probably froze because it couldn't get rid of all the condensation.
Love the cold weather! :(
-
I got no use for winter.
-
I got no use for winter.
As I get older I tend to like it less. The guy I worked with last night said it was probably colder than where I grew up in the North. I said, NO! We would get down to -56'C in over night and warm up to -44'C and that is with no wind. Sometimes it is windy and we are in the -60's with the wind. Now, that is cold!!
-
Calling for -15F to -30F windchills until Saturday.
-
The -34'F is definitely cold! We had 2 weeks here and still going of -30 to -37'C and with the wind as cold as -48'C. I spent an hour on a roof at work cleaning snow from an intake which goes to a Research Facility on New Years Eve and I was on the roof a couple more times. I literally had brain freeze!! But the Researchers don't like it when there medical research goes bad.
-
When it is this cold I like to use it to assemble things which are tolerance fit. Rearends, rocker arm trunions, etc.
