02's are at 741 in high gear at 91 mph and 5500 RPM. If I was gonna push it any harder in high gear I'd throw fuel at it.

I know I know it just piece of mind for me Brad.

Roller cams...are the smart play. I would never recommend running a flat tappet cam to anyone.

I've tested up to 28 PSI with Jasons biggie puck and porting the wastegate hole...with zero issues. Be absolutely sure the puck swings freely...as mine 'grabbed' on the inside when I installed the larger puck. Had to take the die grinder to the inside of the downpipe to clearance it. Grumpy cracked the 9's with an internally gated downpipe and a 67...so it is possible to get the job done with an internally gated downpipe.

255 LPH pump in mine and SS hanger from Jack at Racetronix. Injectors and pump both hotwired....al so Racetronix stuff. Oh...and Caspers volt booster. Letting these cars lack fuel pressure and volume is never a good idea.

General Auto Tech / Re: What to put a 383 stroker in?
« on: November 16 2014, 04:22:49 PM »
So, we have this brand new 383 stroker sitting around...what should we put it in?

We want an economy project, something simple...somet hing that if we need to order a part we don't have to hire a PI to find it.

I was thinking a 70's Nova?  They seem to be plentiful and cheap, lots of aftermarket parts, etc.

I just need a roller.

Ideas?

Not a roller...but the price is right. He may take less?

General Buick Tech / Rotating Assembly Balance Question
« on: November 16 2014, 12:50:31 AM »
I always have the rotating assemblies balanced in my engines...cuz they rev out as smooth a silk. Is there a distinct HP/performance advantage to this...and if so...why?

The 6466 is a legitimate 9 second turbo with supporting mods. Keep us posted.

If it were me I'd try another AFPR. Don't get hung up trying to get the BLM's to 128 at idle. MIne is at 118...engine purrs like a kitten...and has perfect throttle response. Drives like a stocker.

Food for thot. The alky chip I received from Eric for this combination was so rich in low gear fuel...that pulling the full 20% of low gear fuel...only got the low gear 02's down to 780's.

If you had Eric burn your chip for your exact combination... and told him your max boost pressure was 25 lbs...then your fueling should be fine...or close to it...on the default setting for high gear fuel. I agree with Steve...adding that much high gear fuel...means there's something wrong.

I set my low gear fueling on the 1-2 and 2-3 shift points.
