Vacuum Line Question
« on: September 21 2022, 09:39:00 PM »
Anyone have a suggestion on how to fix this?
Also suggestion on where to find a vacuum check valve for the larger vacuum line to the brake booster on a vacuum brake conversion?

The check valve is a pretty common item and I have bought them at the parts store.  I assume you are talking about the one that plugs into the booster?  that is the only one in the line from the intake to the booster.

I am not sure what the picture is but my best guess is that it is the vacuum fitting to the heater control valve on the small hard plastic hose, and/or the one that goes on the other end at the firewall?  I have never seen one for sale, but I have taken a short piece of vacuum hose, put rtv or some other form of "glue" on the end of the  plastic line, and then slipped the vacuum hose over it...then a small zip tie around it seals the deal.

That actually goes to the passenger side fender. I will try the Autozone kit. All the parts stores I have tried do not have a check valve bigger than 1/8”.

Digital dash cars have that hose connection on a hobbs style pressure switch on the inner passenger fender. Its for the turbo power lights on the dashboard. The useless Yellow/Orange lights I have not looked at in 30 years at least

Check the replacement frequently. They don't last near as well as the OEM part.

Ok, sorry for the confusion. The original picture is the rubber connector from the hard plastic line to the MAP sensor. It is cracked and I want to replace it somehow.
The second question, I converted to vacuum brakes. I have seen pictures of some cars that have a check valve in the larger diameter vacuum hose from the plenum to the brake booster. I am having a problem finding a check valve for a larger diameter hose. Do I even need one there? Below is a picture.

I have vacuum assist master cylinder from a Monte Carlo. The check valve was included. It is where the vacuum hose connects at the master.
