Cold Winter
« on: February 28 2014, 12:04:12 PM »
So far we've had 74 days of -30 or colder with the wind.  And out of that 74 days, 34 have been -40 or colder with the wind.  And we are suppose to go down to -40 and -50'C with wind this weekend.  Loving the weather! :013:

The temps are absolutely stupid here. Minus 10 during the day and minus 20 at nite...and don't get me started about the snow. The scary part is I'm getting use to driving in blizzards on the 401.

At -40 both Celsius and Fahrenheit are the same!  So anything colder is pretty close to the same temperatures.  Yup, that's right. :icon_redface: <---- That's me in the cold.

Weather's been horrible down here in Texas as well. It only got to 82 today and I had to wear a jacket up until noon.

In the winter part of my job is monitoring weather conditions, temperature, snow, wind, etc. and the coldest I have ever seen (in the last 12 years) is -26° Celsius (not factoring the wind).  This year I had the "joy" of seeing -34° Celsius (again not factoring the wind) and I can tell you that you can have the heat on high but you can still feel the cold coming through the door on the truck!!!!

We've had lots of frozen pipes this year.  Over 1000 houses without water because of the frozen ground.  City announced today that the ground is frozen solid to a depth of 8'.  For Rob, that means 8 feet!

A nice -25'C this morning, -36'C with the wind.  Spring is here! :D   If we have lots of water sitting while the sun starts to shine we could have an outrageous number of skeeters.

Another -25'C this morning with -32'C wind.  Who needs a coffee with this kind of weather!
