finally had a second part failure on the lesabre
« on: December 03 2012, 10:35:25 PM »
04 buick lesabre 223,000 miles.
Other than the intake gasket failure I replaced at around 120 thousand, I'm now hearing my belt tensioner bearing make some noise on cold morning starts.
rest the engine and trans is all original. including factory alt, water pump, etc...
 never any ac work, etc...
never have replaced one single sensor, still the original exhaust. still averages 28 mpg. never a fluid leak, no smoke.

gm got rid of the 3800 why?    :017:

I loved the 3.8l in my old 86 Riv T-Type..

Had almost 200k on it when I donated it due to electrical gremlins.

I'm with you guys, just sold my Ultra w200k for 1,500 and bought a GS Scharged Regal w70k for 5100. Hopefully the last car I have to buy.

I loved that old RIv.

87 T-Type, we called it the "pimp-ride", since it had some cool features.

Sunroof, touchscreen CRT in the dash, "winter/summer" seats, etc.

Old pic:

not my car - but the interior:

I totally forgot about the late 80's rivieras

the interior kinda reminds me of the buick reatta.
speaking of the reatta's,... getting a a nice mid-mile at a very inexpensive price these days is pretty easy it seems.
I'd pay top dollar for a good one, but unfortunetly I have to have the big trunk and 4 doors for a dd

They shared a lot of the interior with the Reatta, CRT touchscreen and all.
