Looks like I have a new Buick
« on: February 22 2012, 09:40:51 AM »
payment and shipping details are to be worked out but my offer was accepted

It is a 1967 Buick Special Deluxe...I have been searching for a few mos for something different...st ayed away from the popular cars as what I was looking for was not in my or my wifes...lol budget...It is a CA car with a little rust that should be any easy fix for me. I wanted something to go to car shows and take the kids and dog for ice cream...and that was turn key and I would not need to do a lot of work on.. My wife saw the interior and liked it...after a few e-mails and PM's with Brad Conley, Chris Pollak and the current owner on the V8 board we struck a deal. So after 10 plus years with the GN that I sold I am back with a V8...

Great car!  Simple to work on, and you know a paint guy!

ought to have great torque for driving.  Don't know what kinda brakes it has up front, but, I would not hesitate to put money into the best brakes that are practical as those big ol' boats take a lot of slowing down.  Go thru the suspension and fix as needed and add good shocks.  Nothing like sailing down the road in comfort and safety :)

Very nice Sean.  If it still has points in it do the petronics conversion and call it a day. The only thing anyone will notice is the extra wire coming out of the distributor and you won't have to deal with the points ever again. :D

Like the one I had. It was in the family for 20 years before I got it and restored & GS-ified it.

Interesting the way the did the trim on yours Sean. The central states Spl Dlx cars had the sweep spear up high and the front fender trim on yours may be an indication that those fenders were originally on a Skylark.
