I'd rather it was more like gnttype.org than tbs.com.  Less discussion/fluff and more straightforwar d "how to" information, but obviously kept up to date.  

ATR & Kenne Bell both had fairly easy to follow "how to" guides that they published for "spring cleaning" and basic tuning procedures.  Though I think they were written pre-scan master and obviously pre-Power Logger.  I wish I had an "expert" near me that was good with Power Logger and tuning and I'd take a week off of work to get proficient with it.  

I'm a pilot, so I naturally gravitate towards "check list" by the numbers procedures rather than the discussions that take place on the forums.  And pictures help to :phpbbt; I always feel more comfortable seeing someone/participating with them hands on for this kind of stuff rather than jumping into head first on my own.  Though, that's probably because I'm so scared the car is gonna blow up after I touch it with a wrench.

My father's nickname for me growing up was Dr. Destructo because anything mechanical I touched would break, explode, implode or just mysteriously stop doing whatever it was intended to do.

some things, like setting cam, crank, iac, tps, etc.  I have provided step by step instructions for.

Tuning, combinations, and such...those are very gray areas.

I reworked the tuning section today trying to simplify the approach..part icularly for street cars giving some guidelines that I have recognized over the years...not the only approach, just kinda my thought process.  

One has to help himself by trying to learn what the various scantool parameters actually mean and I tried to do that in the Scantool section and in the Basic section.

There is so much interaction between various components that it is difficult to dumb down for dummies and there lies the problem.  Some people are interested in learning how things work and other people just want a fast car without putting any effort into it.

I am doing my best to help the first while hoping the second will find someone that will do it for them

I am sure it is somewhat a generational problem.  Old guys like me usually started out with something old and worn out and we had to fix it and pay for it in order to drive it so we started on the ground floor.   Today, guys start out with computers and not old cars...just a different environment.

okay...I put an abreviated write up on tps and iac adjustment under How To's for those that did  not want to read how they work in the Basics section

I admit to being less than consistent, but I also admit that I am to old to seriously entertain a reform movement. :D
