Paint and Body / air dam re-paint to textured black
« on: November 02 2022, 07:36:33 PM »
I am thinking about re painting my air dam from dark red metallic to the same color as the stock air dams. Was thinking it would look better. Do you think this color is a good match for the stock air dams? Anyone?
Obviously I won't use rust-oleum but thinking that the stock dams are textured black...... Look at the cap color.
I took some pics in the sun and the air dam does not match the body. So 2 choices correct body paint or textured black.

Tried a new hose and it didn't do the trick. Had to put in a new caliper. Problem solved.

Is it possible that the thermostat is stuck? Seeing how it sat so long in the closed position and corroded possibly. :068:

Digital dash cars have that hose connection on a hobbs style pressure switch on the inner passenger fender. Its for the turbo power lights on the dashboard. The useless Yellow/Orange lights I have not looked at in 30 years at least

Believe it or not there's no drag, no smell, no warpage thank god, but I have not hammered the brakes yet to find out if it will do it again..

No ABS. Fluid was flushed recently.
The calipers are floating properly and the bolts/pins were cleaned and lubed. I made sure of that.
I talked to someone last night that told me that the hose may have collapsed internally. What would cause the hose to collapse momentarily?

wonder if this ever happened to anyone. I did my pads and rotors front and rear. been driving the car left and right for 2 months. All of a sudden 2 days ago my right front caliper was partially frozen. I noticed after a half mile on the Expressway. Car was shaking and it stunk and I obviously saw smoke when I pulled over. So I put it in reverse and it fixed itself. Took it up to Mavis today cause I wanted it on a lift and they said the caliper was fine. No explanation why it happened or if it would happen again. I have been driving the car and not hitting the brakes to get the caliper replaced. When I saw the guy put the tire back on I was stunned. Story was that it could happen to new pads. I was like. Dude I drove to Canada and back. Syracuse and back like 10 times and to work every day 35 miles round trip.
ANY one know what the hell could have happened? I know it will happen again. Can't be air cause the brakes are tight. Maybe a proportioning valve issue?

sounds to me like the radio has issues. If so then you can contact United Radio Electronics repair shop in
East Syracuse, NY · (315) 446-8700. They may even have a rebuilt one in stock and you can either fix yours or use it as a credit. I have used them before and they are outstanding.

I saw a radio installed in a 44K mile GN yesterday at Phil Bassage's shop. Master tech in Canandaigua NY. I had to move the car out of the garage for him and was stunned. I couldn't stop looking at it. It had blue tooth and it showed the name of the radio station and the current song playing like a new car. It did look pretty stockish looking except for the fact that all the buttons were lit up and the display was digital. Colors were amber grey and bright. I would not be surprised if the colors could be changed to suit.

If you could blow through both sides that means boost pressure was getting into the engine causing oil to blow out from the pan gasket mostly.
