General Buick Tech / Steve can you answer this?
« on: May 02 2011, 10:16:02 PM »
I was driving my Buick on saturday and the O2's dropped to 000 and BLM's went to 90 when I came to a stop and it was idling but when I took off the car sputtered a second like it was running rich and once I got rolling a couple miles per hour or RPM past 1200 or so it smoothed out and the BLM jumped to 128 and O2's bounced around like normal. Think the O2 sensor is going out or something?

General Buick Tech / Vacuum fluctuation at idle.
« on: April 14 2011, 04:49:10 PM »
It moved up and down a couple of pounds really once the car has warmed up but until then it runs fine. Also when I let of the gas and am just rolling it does it. What could cause this?

Cam?
Head gasket?
Vacuum leak?

General Buick Tech / Boost gauge reads 0 at idle.

I started my car yesterday for the first time in a couple months and as the title stated it read 0 vac/boost. Could this be a vacuum leak or is the gauge messed up?

I figured you guys might care. I'm sure I'm wrong though.

Lots of cleaning and paint touch up on the firewall and other places, and replaced lots of old or rusty or worn items. Replaced A/C stuff, fixed my power steering pump, cleaned up the engine wiring quite a bit. And did a spring cleaning while I was at it.

Hydroboost

Got rid of the purple tint for something a little more black. I also refuse to do the back window if I can help it so I will save that for a person who's more of an expert cause the side windows were hard enough.

Ordered a Hughes deep tranny pan since I had a pretty bad leak gasket leak while the car was just sitting in the garage and when I knocked that out I decided to tackle installing my Metco drive shaft loop I've had sitting around for over a year.

I still have an alky install to do but sadly I'm kind of tired of projects so I think I'll hold off on it until closer to spring.

The one that goes with the wastegate solenoid in particular, but they are all old and rusty/dirty. Anyone know where I can get a new set or just this one?

For Sale/Trade/Want To Buy / Powermaster

After doing my hydroboost conversion I now have a powermaster I don't need. What do they run for used? Remans run like $600.

A/C, Heating and Cooling / A/C wiring question
« on: December 19 2010, 11:58:53 AM »
While redoing a bunch of wiring under the hood of my car I cut one of the wires coming off the A/C compressor for some reason a long time ago and can't remember where it was supposed to go. I fixed my AC but need to make sure the wiring is straight and need to get it recharged first however I need to find where this wire goes.

It comes off the high pressure switch on the back of the compressor there are two wires  I have them covered with a loom at the moment but it looks like they both tie into the green and black connector on the front of the compressor with the diode.

Anyway the wire that is cut comes out of the loom off of some other wire and that switch and both get soldered together and turn into one wire and it's that one wire that's cut. I might have cut it from the factory radiator fan wiring when I did my dual fan setup but I'm not sure. Could it just be a ground?

Here are some pics I can get better ones later if needed.

The switch wires

The end of the single wire here is what I need to connect.

Cars seems a little obvious but what else do you like to do in your spare time?

I like to weight lift but keep getting hurt so I haven't been able to do it for a couple weeks. My xbox also keeps me company when I am bored and the Buick isn't broken or I am tired of fixing it. And I have a good attraction to guns, knives, and other objects that are weapons.

General Buick Tech / Power steering/hydroboost pressure line question.
« on: December 17 2010, 12:36:07 AM »
So I am in the middle of doing a hydroboost conversion to my T. I put the pressure lines on a little bit ago but it doesn't seem like the one on the gearbox went on hardly at all.

As you can see in this picture the driver side line is seated almost entirely into the booster. The passenger side has a couple threads left but it's tight as can be.

However in this picture, the line going to the gear box has around 3.5 threads left yet it's tight. I tried taking it out and putting in back in around three times and the same result each time. I don't want to have it leak the minute I throw everything back together.

Do you all think it's fine or should I try until it goes in further?

What's up guys (and gals) I have trolled a few Buick boards for a while but don't post on them much. I have only owned mine for about two years so I still consider myself a newbie to these cars but I'm learning fast! I didn't know about this forum until TB's.com mentioned it in that thread. So anyways I hope to fit in well here!  :supz:
