General Buick Tech / Re: Wipers stuck on
« on: October 10 2021, 11:02:36 AM »
Steve, thanks again for your help. I found this on the Turbo Buick’s site.

Generally it's the $50 wiper cover that needs replacing.

Wiper washer with pulsed wiper application needed.

If you pull that cover off when the wipers are down and near parked you may find the mechanical arm isn't engaging correctly or disengaging actually to help park the wipers.

The mechanical arm has to fall into a detent in the wheel in there to park the wipers (turn them off).

You might be able to take off the cover and lube the arm/wheel or see if anything is broken in there.

The arm moves into the detent and should kill power to the motor when it works right.

I’ve been working on my various electrical issues and finally replaced the turn signal stalk. Cruise control now works but I still have a wiper problem. They stay on all the time. I had a switch across a blown fuse to get by  :icon_redface:
The wipers are still running with the new stalk in. HELP!

A/C, Heating and Cooling / Diagram for A/C vacuum lines
« on: September 20 2021, 05:48:51 PM »
HELP! I fixed the vac line going to the distribution block and my a/c was working, dash vents, floor, etc. A few days later it went back to floor only. I have/ can hold vacuum on the line going to distro block. When I take the line that's going from the vac box on pass side down into the fender that line won't hold a vacuum.
Does anyone have a diagram showing where this goes, and the whole system too?
A/C works great as far as being cold. New compressor and cleaned out condenser. R-12 does work great in this system.

Does the B2 fit the adapter too? I'll look that up.

I just got got my Biggie adapter and searched for a cheap(er) Baldwin source. Found one, but you have to buy a case of 12. Even with shipping they are $7.75. There is a 2 week delivery gap too.
Just thought I'd pass that along.

Transmissions / Re: Trans doesn't shift - in D/OD all the time

Thanks, I will check everything and get back. I have been gone over the weekend. On it today. The trans is the last thing holding me up. It's always something.   I appreciate the feedback.

Thanks. It is hooked up. I can put it in D or R and drive around. It's just not going through the gears. When I put it in gear- D or O, there's no shifting, just a slow start.
I am crawling under and checking it out.

Transmissions / Trans doesn't shift - in D/OD all the time
« on: September 09 2021, 02:14:15 PM »
I finally got my 84 T close to being right. (Can't say finished, never finished)  :icon_lol:. I am having transmission problems. I know nothing about auto transmissions. It seems like it is in D or OD all the time. It is slow off the line and it doesn't go through the gears. If I'm driving it doesn't downshift. If I'm going 30, 40 mph and put the shifter in 2 or 1 it doesn't change.
It's the same if I put it in 1, 2, D whatever. I get no reaction.
HELP!

I know this is an old thread but I just got into a problem with Gbody parts. Bought an upper door panel set for almost $500. When they got here both were damaged. They said send them back, so I thought I'd get new ones without a problem. Went back and forth for two months with a lot of bull$hit about dealing with the manufacturer. I finally got my CC involved and I'm getting my money back.
And to hill 1430, how did you get a phone number? I couldn't find one.
Hey to all, for us new people, how about a name to go with the rant? Save us from going there and getting screwed.

Thanks. I'm in Bowie. I had Billy work on my car. Got it tweaked and dynoed last summer. I belong to MAGNA.  I get email but have never attended an event. Didn't have a running Buick.

Hi, just joined the forum today. I found this link on the Turbobuick site. I have an Autumn Mist 1984 T Type. I've owned it since 1994, and have been going through a restoration since last fall. Had the motor rebuilt, bored .030" over, forged rods and Pistons, 48lbs. injectors, rebuilt turbo, rebuilt heads, jet hot coated, adj fuel pressure, 2:1/2" SS headers, electric fan conversion, 87 ECU and coli pack.  Working on the interior, new headliner, carpet, seat covers, and door panels. New bumpers and fillers.
Hope to get some good info here, and find some Buick Turbo people in the area.
