Title: Buick Skylark/GS/GSX Online Communities?
Post by: motorhead on October 16 2013, 08:38:03 AM
Can anyone suggest a good source/forum for these cars?  Like many I am finding it hard to sell my Turbo Buick, so now I am thinking about potential trades - and I really want something with a 455, 4 speed and a posi (of course it would be a clone/hot rod).

eBay is slim pickings...

Well I've got a 455 that I just got out of storage, but I think it's a little far for you to come pick it up. I've also got a lakewood bell for it if you need one.

Thanks for the offer, Charlie.  I am going to TRY to avoid another project (other than tinkering with little shit) with this one.  Essentially I am looking to trade one reasonably clean running driving car, for another - one that I can pile the kid(s) in on weekends and for car shows, and for me to use on drag days.

Welcome to the real world - former D.I.N.K /now real Dad :)

I love being a Dad, and I am almost in the right time and place to do it.  Another year would have been perfect, if not for the fact I would have been a year older.

Oh well, I am going to lose 6 months of "Daddy time" to training in her first 2 years of life... not that bad.  At least it isn't a deployment.

No time like the present, You don't want to be figuring out how to pay for college when you should be retired.

At least yours is black figure you'd be able to sell it easier.

The problem is it mine is all "chopped up".  Most potential buyers want to start from stock and blow tonnes of cash building it up vs. buying one done already.  I get that.

I am just trying to find angles that will get me out of the car and into something I want; which can come as a base car (ie. a Skylark) with modifications (455, 4 spd, 12-bolt, etc).

makes sense.   Was talking to Martin a few weeks back and he suggested that when I want out be easier to try and trade then sell.   It seems like either mod the crap out of them and beat on it or leave them stock.    Good luck either way, and hopefully you get what you want.

Marty is the master of the trade... always comes out ahead or happy.
