General Buick Tech / Re: Is Earl still making front covers?

With everything else you have done a T/A cover would be a good idea. Better than a stocker or even a modded stocker.

Not sure I would go with a used pick up when new is available. Either will work

General Buick Tech / Re: Russ and Melissa's Turbo Alky car
« on: November 04 2019, 08:42:00 PM »
Russ could tune a wheel barrow and Melissa could drive a dump truck into the 9s. Don't give them any ideas!  More tricks in that car than Hudini could think of BUT not many would ever notice. No pro mod there, just a well thought out combination. Probably would have went a few rounds in TSM and they weren't even prepared. Great weekend either way. Hey Dan are ya ready for next year??? Maybe a Mazda in TAI:045:

Just wondering how it's doing.

Brad, not sure if you ever talk to Brandon.

With the Cutlass long gone and the deal for the "T" I had bought fell through, sure missing the old girl.

It would be great for you to come to your senses and get back to real cars. If you need anything let me know also.
Later bud.

General Buick Tech / Re: Compression check
« on: November 07 2018, 06:10:07 AM »
Check the first pulse on the gauge and the 4 th. Compare these and it will tell you where the reading is low. If the first pulse is low and the 4th is high it is probably ring area. If the first pulse is low and same or close to the 4 th it is probably in the valve area (carbon) Then pin point with a leak down test. The first low could have had a leaky inj at shut down etc.

Best BG yet and I learned lots from Jason on this one.  :powersix: You got this new program working! Truly the best group of guys and gals. Cant wait for next year. Jason's car works and the Merrit's had some bad luck but we thrashed and made the final. Russ was running around the pits like a kid in a toy store and Melissa was on her game as usual. She will be back for her trophy.  :icon_fU: Jason Cramer was doing well until he had some driveline problems but everyone was still laughing and having fun. My buddy Thumper and his wife Missy also fought the race demons but were still enjoying the time. To all my Buick friends have a great year and catch up again next year.

Might be easier to just run a RJC girdle ??  :chin: Good machinist are out there BUT ya have to find em.

This or just replace stock bolts with studs. You will be surprised how much a stud will change things, and no machining involved.

Hey Grump I heard a rumour that your bringing the Mazda?
Noooo... It's a turd trying to get off the starting line. Looking at 8.8 Ford brake setups now. Fast system is impressive.

My daughters would love to drive that flying turd!  :icon_fU:  :icon_lol:
