New here.
« on: October 30 2017, 09:29:19 PM »
Ok .. We all know life happens.. And I'm no exception. I had been on "the boards" since the early 90s when other things took over my life  and I stopped visiting and pretty much stopped working on my  C1 vette hybrid. Well now I'm retired, re-married and now have at least some time to devote to my vette. Promised my kids that I'd get it running before I die. LOL
My T-Type was my daily driver back in the day so once I had it running how I wanted I pretty much stopped modding it so not much need to scan the posts and stay informed.
So now I'm back! And woefully behind the times. I was pretty happy I actually was able to troubleshoot a no start issue and got he beast started the other day. But not well. Car's still up on stands so I just want it running right without filling the shop with clouds of smoke. Doing some research and as soon as i have  some pertinent info I'll be here asking for help. (pretty sure its fuel) All the alphabet soup on my Scanmaster is a bit confusing to me right now so I'm re-reading Vortex a few times and going over to Turbo Regal Web site to try to catch up some. I can't believe how  much stuff has changed.

What color was the cloud?    If it was black, that's fuel.

That's much better than white or blue.

It was white. But burned my eyes and fouled all the plugs. Pulled the pipe off the turbo and its dry. Black soot on all the plugs and they were all dry. Soot also in the exhaust. Gunna double check some stuff tomorrow. I'll start a new thread when I know more.

Here's the instructions for Bobs Extender chip. Be sure to have the fuel pressure and dip switches and base knob set correctly. Appears the Calpak chip needs to be pulled to make adjustments to the chip.

I see no mention about being able to make adjustments via PL for Bobs chip...just in car adjustment. This gent has a hybrid. Anyone?

Not too much really..Mostly a Dynotech chip & tune-Stage 1 trans-ATR dual exhaust- K&N air cleaner and pipe. That's about it. She ran pretty well I guess with what I did . 12.8 -107 If I remember right. She's retired now. And breaking my heart because the bumper fillers are shattering like an egg just sitting there. Not gonna put anything into her till after the vette is out and running. I'm retired now too and money gets tight around this time of the month.. :icon_cry: So I have to plan my purchases well in advance. Next on my list is a power logger. As long as nothing breaks around the house.  :icon_neutral:

You don't need bumper fillers . I mean, they are nice to have but they aren't a requirement. I roll without rears for now. I am with you on the budget thing. Get it up and rolling. You won't believe the attention it gets on the street from the general public.

I hope to be installing a Goodmark set on the white car this winter, ( since they would need to be painted anyways, Mike B refused to make me a set of  white ones- Gary Wells has the only set).
I will report.

So I was just looking for a spot to post some findings and I noticed the board doesn't have a hybred list. Am I the 1st to post here?
