Cheapass Mid 10 Engine Build

This is what drags my sorry ass down the track. Pics below...and note the absence of a WB in the DP...and a Steve Monroe TB and a Z06 MAF. Here's the rest:

Stock STD bore 109 block-Stock caps-Stock hardware
Stock STD pistons
Stock STD/STD crank
Stock rods
Stock flywheel
Stock balancer
Off the shelf Comp Cams 212/212 flat tappet cam spec'd by our very own Steve Wood. :)
NOS GM lifters-I have friends in low places. :)
Stock timing chain and gears
Balanced rotating assembly
File fit rings

8445 heads-Large valves/ported/polished by my friend/engine builder who's been at it for 30 years.
140 lb valve springs
Stock rockers with solid shafts

Upper plenum backfilled/contoured/ported/polished by my friend/engine builder
Champion stock appearing intake courtesy of IfYaGot3Yards from TBS :)

Stock headers

Stock ignition module/coil pack

6262 JB turbo matched to an Art Carr 16930 NL convertor

What's done to the plenum? Power plate?
86 white T type with t tops and blackout trim. 60lb injectors Gen 2 with Extender Chip TR6 ignition 212/206 roller cam Turbonetics BB CPT 61 CAS V4 Intercooler Cobbled together Alky Injection 4 inch MAF pipe with integral sensor
2800 stall lots of fun with a little 6 banger!

What's done to the plenum? Power plate?

Joe backfilled/contoured it to match the intake. He also ported it for Steve Monroes TB. No Power Plate...as the plugs are evenly colored...tho I'd recommend a Power Plate for a stock upper plenum.

That's what I run Steve's TB with a power plate. Without a flow bench I will leave the upper plenum alone it is port matched to the throttle body.

Jason, I don't recommend using a heavy set of valve springs like I do. 980's and 981's will do just fine. The basic premise of this exercise is to see how fast I can go on stock junk and Erics 5.7 chip. When I hear back from Joe, I'll post up the info.

130 lbs at 1.700
340 lbs at 1.250

His text didn't say what brand or part number.

Are you running a stock intercooler as well?  Also, your're using the stock nylon timing gear?
