How nice is that '86 grill you got? I have a few small pits in mine and would like to upgrade.

IHADAV8 Playground / Help me out here.. ..

I really don't see the point in what these people did. I came across the ad before it was posted on TBS and I didn't bother to post it and make a big deal about it. I also didn't harress the guy with e-mails. If you were really interested in it, a simple e-mail asking for some kind of proof, which he has, would clear up any doubt.

Then if you dont jump on their band wagon, they don't like you even when they're wrong. Fuck that. They're just as bad as TB.com.

General Buick Tech / Drag shocks
« on: August 08 2005, 10:57:04 AM »
I just installed some comp drag shocks.

The rears would compress to fast and unload the rear on launchs (bounce). The front would not open (rise) when I tried with my hands. So both shocks were not doing what I needed and I hope the new shocks will show some good 60's.

The best I got before was a high 1.68 with the avg being 1.78.

I need 1.55's .

I was going to the track on tuesday but it might rain.

We have a nother street race at the track on thursday and I'm going to race a turbo TPI TA.

I also think I have my fuel curve figured out, the car should run a little faster.

IHADAV8 Playground / Going racing tonight
« on: July 27 2005, 12:56:22 PM »
It went from 104 deg three days ago to 72 today. It should run better.

I installed the 3.5" DP on the little TE-34 and hope to have fixed the knock problem I had. It looks like the 3.5" is close to the frame but we will see.

I ran close to 113 on a 97deg day @ 26psi and pig rich. I'm going to run with the dump open to try to eat up some of that fuel and also add some timming. Last run was only 12-15 deg of timming.

If I can get the A/F up to where it should be, I will start to add boost.

I'm not focused on ET's right not untill I start making some power. Then the HR bar might find it's way to my house.

General Buick Tech / Motor mounts cause knock..
« on: July 24 2005, 09:08:08 PM »
Yep,

My pass mount failed and the motor sagged on that side. This made the crossover collector flange on the pass header hit the frame on hard launches. This caused false knock and pulled all the timming out going down the track.

I found this while installing a 3.5" down pipe. I thought the stock down pipe was hitting the a-arm, which it was also.

I will post track improvements after I go on tuesday.

Oh, and new mounts were $23 for the pair.

IHADAV8 Playground / First time to the track in 2 years
« on: July 14 2005, 01:30:38 PM »
I put all the stock stuff back on and went to the track last night for the first time in 2 years.

Wasn't sure if it would even make it down the track. Turns out my WB02 is fried so I couldn't do much tuning.

Ran 105 @ 18.5 psi. with 5 deg false knock.
