Training exercise = taking the young'ns out in the woods see what they don't know or forgot to plan for.

Well I just got a quote for $1800 for a set of 17x9.5 Race Stars and a pair of 275/50R17 M&H RaceMasters (to match up with the 325/45R17s I already have) in case the TBSS is the one that goes.  Ouch.

I was telling Natasha about this and she said "that is a lot of money to spend for something you are only going to use once... are you sure you are never going to race it (again)?"  I think she is enabling my bad habit.

I would like an enabler like that. My wife is more like, " do you want to eat and have electricity, or race the car?" We all know I want to race the car, but I know my responsibiliti es, and can live vicariously through all y'all.

The lean years were so lean that selling the Buick for the pittance it would have raised would not have made a dent in the owed - so it stayed :)

So I ordered up, and have on hand, the parts to do a FlexFuel sensor conversion on the TBSS - looking to run a 20-30% ethanol blend.  The 60lb/hr injectors should be able to handle it, given they are at around 80% DC right now on straight gas (no propane) and 7ish psi of boost.

In other news the TBSS is at the body shop getting a massive amount of rust repair work done (it is the sleeping death), including a new door and fender.  FML this is going to impact my available financial resources for DW unless I can sell some more stuff soon.

The wagon is out.  After a hard bit of soul searching I had to accept that unless I cut a lot of corners there was no way to get the car there.  I'd like to blame work for taking me away for a month and a half, but that would be a BS excuse.  Maybe next year - because I will not cut corners building the wagon. Period.

Moving on.

Readying the TBSS over the next two months should be easier, or at least manageable.  Away we go.

Hey, don't worry 'bout that. Doing it RIGHT takes time and having it done right is way more important than sitting on the side of the road thinking, "If only". Probably why my car looks like it does. But it does run and drive and hopefully will have working ac one of these days.

You made the right choice.
