A/C, Heating and Cooling / Re: What tools are needed?
« on: July 23 2018, 03:19:19 PM »
I was out there goofing with it T last night. I had gotten some dye to put in to see about leaks so we did than on this car and the Malibu. Ended up pulling a vac on the T so we put the other can of redtek in ad got it to "short cycle" . Big thanks to Jason as he hooked me up with a compressor as mine the bearing was going out. We swapped that on a while back and just now got around to goofing with it again. I am going to order more redtak and see what I can do with it.

On to the problem. High side port leaking in the Malibu. From the reading turns out this thing doesn't have a shrader valve and you replace the whole port. I can't seem to break it loose. Will heat help? I can hit it with the mapp gas but wasnt sure. Also might ry to put some ice on it. It seems to be 16mm but imnot having luck getting it off. Did find the replacement.

Any ideas are good ideas. We need us some cold air.
It is probably red locktighted on so a little heat might help

General Auto Tech / Re: Affordable Battery Tender
« on: July 20 2018, 10:30:22 AM »
I have the Battery Tender Plus and the Ctek mus 4.3

They both seem to do a good job.

I've only had battery tender brand but during my misfortunate brush with the Optima red top I had to replace one of mine.  When I called Deltran and explained they sent me a new one and I was only out the shipping even though it was clearly not their fault and the unit was out of warranty.
So take that for what it's worth.

I’ve seen some pretty neat stuff. A fairly well known shop was known for just raping the pe tables and sending them on their way. Others lock their pcm and force you to pay if you want the lock off.
OEM's do it too.
Research right to repair laws.

So the T is back from the body shop.  Tried to post pictures but ihadav8 just hung.  So not sure what'd going on with that
  • We fixed the front fender where I hit it with the Zero turn
  • Fixed the trunk lid where that led bulb got between the panels and dinged it up good.
  • Fixed the header where someone cracked it at a car show
  • And PDR'ed the minor dents and dings out.
Put a new cable in the antenna and it still doesn't work but at least the motor doesn't run all the time

For Sale/Trade/Want To Buy / T-type decklid emblem
« on: July 17 2018, 10:05:47 AM »
Got the regal back from paint but the broke the decklid emblem.
Remember on the T-types this is the one that says 3.8 SFI TURBO but it's an all chrome version not black on the sides like the hood emblems.  Anyone have one before I pay out the nose for a NOS version.

It was pretty complicated to wire.  And it had a lot of operating modes/options.  The biggest one was it was hard to wire in.  I had caspers make me a little ECU extender that worked pretty well.

I do think they made another run this year

Lotsa people....LOL  That's the reason I was trying to find a means to jerk the timing (or boost if using electronic boost control)
You know the old ISAC (alky boost controller could do that).  I discussed with bob at length about a knock sensor boost cut and some other things.   In the end the lean out using the wideband is the most reliable boost cutoff.  I don't remember the details but that was the consensus.  Of course the ISAC couldn't see the fuel pressure.

I think you were on the right track to check the map output.  You did check the line from the sensor (vacuum) to make sure it is not cracked or broken?

Here's a link that shows voltages for a 3 bar  http://injector-rehab.com/shop/mapsensor.html
it's about 4.9/3 at atmospheric pressure or 1.6V

It should have some voltage at atmospheric

I need the one on a T-type trunk lid.  No black on the sides.

I hated t6p...bunch of clowns, trolls, and idiots
I'm sure I qualify for at least 2 of the 3.
On average I'd say there has been 6 people 18 bots
On the site at any given time max for the last 5/7 years.
If I want or need anything I still use vortex or turbobuicks still. The info buried is all someone would ever need.
But you know that. Nobody does research anymore.
The info from you and the 2 Ken's alone is more then most will ever need.
And if me bringing this post up bothers you I'm sorry it wasn't my intention.
Charlie was my friend. As many know.
Good luck guys.
And I'm one of the other ones

Yep - prices are dropping, I'm stuck with 19 GTX1080Ti..

We are evaluating AMD GPUs for AI - We already sell the Epyc, which is indeed epic.

This is where i work - FYI

Hivelocity.net
We've got a pretty interesting little high density GPU box if you want to talk
