I am kicking around adding this during the summer. I dont want to run a ton of boost, low to mid 20's. Is it worth the trouble if I want to run a conservative set-up or is it more for racing and running balls out. This is 90% street car, I'm not looking to get into the elevens or anything.

Oil pressure is good ( 50 warm and crusing) and its not an injector, I know that sound. I did try the long screwdriver trick held to my ear and checking around, no luck. Pulled the valve covers and held my hand on each rocker to see if I could feel anything or hear a change in noise...no luck. I kinda ended up where what Steve said, it just makes some noise and I gotta quit worring about it. Cant wait for the salt to get rained off the roads here so I can get it back out again!!

Want to get rid of the Flowmaster exhaust this spring and get the Pypes cat back system installed.

Did you scope the engine? no

Is it cold and warm tick ? Is it louder on start up? warm tick, not loud on start up

Is it front or back left or right top or bottom? hard to tell, middle top???

How many miles on it? Is it a rebuild if so when? 58000 original

Is the tick a scratchy tick or a tapping tick? tapping

Did it just start to do this or was it a gradual thing. done it since I got it 2 years ago

yeah, I've spent 2 years trying to find this tick, Short of taking the whole motor apart I've given up! Thats why I liked this oil. would the heavy ZDDP content help with the ticking. I'm guessing from my reading that on  the # 3 cylinder the cam lobes are worn and its coming from that but I'm probably way off. Its a slight ticking but I'm pretty picky and it bugs me

my motor had a loud tick ( no header cracks) and I went from mobil 1 to Valvoline to this stuff and with this the tick seemed to be reduced quite a bit. Maybe its in my head but I hated the ticking and this helped. Just wondered if there was a more readily avaliable oil that might have some of the same properties??

I really liked this stuff but its a huge pain in the ass to get for me. Whats a good substitute, 10W40 prefered.
