Frost could be in the ground by then. Book it for next spring.

Building and concrete will most likely be spring. I'd like to get the fill dirt in before winter hits.

Letting it get tru a freeze/thaw cycle is a good idea! Also concrete will finish better with a summer mix.

Excavation and site prep will start in a couple of weeks!
I've been busting ass getting ready. I've got the site pretty much cleared other than a big lilac bush that my wife wants to try and root the cuttings. I pounded 15 T posts today for the temporary fence, I'm sure I'll be feeling it tonight/tomorrow. Once I get a date set for the fill and site prep, I've got to hang the temporary fence up and disassemble around 75' of chain link fence. The excavator told me he'd yank the posts out for me.

Still waiting on excavation - but I've got the builder locked down for spring - as early as we can safely do it!

Yes - he's been back about a week, and he wasn't missed. He hasn't stuck his nose in it yet - just a matter of time.

Jeremy, the fake shortage of wood is over...and prices are slowly coming down. If you need wood for your shop...wait the bastards out till the prices come back to normal.

The issue here is most of the wood comes from Canada and it stays in quarantine at the border for 2 weeks before they release it. Hurricane season isn't helping either. My builder is requoting the project in the spring so fingers crossed.

Funny how things work- last year a friend built a house in Huntsville and drove and picked up all his wood panel siding from Menards in Detroit.

Jeremy I picked up some wood for fencing today. 8 foot untreated construction grade 2x4 was $7.88 and the 10 foot 2x4 was $9.78. Not sure if you guys have wood tariffs to pay for comparative pricing.
