Title: EGR Block Off Plate
Post by: gnonyx on February 19 2020, 07:22:00 PM
Hi All,
Question, When ordering this EHR block off plate, why are they sending a screw when the original set up is bolted down with a nut?  Or is every engine has a different factory set up?
My personal feelings, Forget about the useless screw just send a gasket.

Vid from my channel shows a fancy ass bolt. I prolly removed the threaded bolt...just can't remember doing it.

Is it necessary to remove the threaded bolt? Why not use the nut?

Doesn't really matter either way.   Those block off plates (AKA 'reeds') are nothing more than POS's.

With the correct gasket and sealer they work mint.

Yep, glued one down on the GN 20 years ago and it has been good so far. I have seen others that leaked on other cars. Must be the prep

Thanks, I wasn't sure if it was one side or both.
Today I drain the tranny fluid and it's a lot of fluid since it has a deep pan cover.
Tomorrow I will check the TV cable setting with the valve body plunger, I will post some pictures or video of making the GM style adjustment, and compare to see how close the plunger valve is at full wot
