Title: Headers
Post by: daveismissing on December 25 2019, 10:13:04 PM
interesting quote:
Mr full throttle: You have the KB style headers, you need a downpipe for those, the SE style headers fit with those downpipes but there is currently no internal gate pipes made that fit with the ATR/KB style headers, only a pipe with an external gate on it. Terry Houston used to make one but those are very hard to find. His regular pipe will not fit...honestly I would keep the downpipe and use the SE style header if possible. If not you can get the 3” pipe with the gate but you will need to port the turbo and cut the inner fender to make that work. Call me if you need help figuring this out

Wow, who can keep track of all this, I know i would never be able to find this again on the social media platform

And the car prolly runs 12's. Ported stockers go right into the 9's...and they fit perfect with the stock crossover pipe. Baffles me why guys fuck with the after market stuff.

If I followed correctly GN1 sells KB style and stock style and he got pointed to the KB stuff by GN1?. Then bought a second downpipe which didn't work either

I'm in for some cheap, used stuff if it comes up for sale.

That is the biggest problem with the facebook, no way to search up the info. Then there is the individuals on there that are selling, those that don't know any thing except what they have heard, and worst of all, there are those that think they know and spread all kinds of information. Maybe it is a good thing it isn't able to be searched up.

The problem with the stock stuff is it is just old. High mile stuff like mine cracks and needs repair. I've been looking at flanges so I can try to fab up a set with the new TIG the wife let me buy. It is going to be a while as I've never tig welded before, but it is pretty fun. Lots to learn. I'll probably just start off with welding up the stock ones and see how that goes.

Probably a million, or two or three, old heads in the junk yard that would serve as a mounting jig for welding.  Be sure to stress relieve the pipe after welding it up
