Bitch/Whine/Moan / Re: So the GF says I have an obsession

Look at this at a way to get through to her.  If you can't then maybe you should reconsider that proposal.  We are who we are and if there is a fundamental difference that makes living together peacefully and happily impossible then ......
Now if you aren't neglecting anything then she should understand.  If you are neglecting things to work on or spend money on your car then she has a valid point.  Assuming you have everything in order and aren't neglecting anything then you need to let her know that doing this is what makes you happy.  Tell her she needs to look at it as the price of your happiness not car parts and YOU are willing to pay it.  Tell her if she wants to add to your happiness that she shouldn't buy you that sweater for your birthday but a nice set of plug wires with an NOS4GN coil pack and ignition module would be a Fukin' Killer gift.  Then when you have the car running the way you want it, put her in the passenger seat and tape a blank check to the dash in front of her.  Tell her that if she can grab the check when you take off that she can write it for whatever she wants and deposit into a joint account and you'll never use that money for car parts. :D   Then pin her ass so far into the seat that her lips start to unwrap from around her teeth. :icon_lol:

Make sure the passenger seat is slid as far back as it will go so she would have to lean forward to reach the check.

BOID!!!! Long time no see man.  I'd been away for a while myself.  Good to hear that you are having fun and doing well.  I don't plan on going away again...ever.  Hopefully you'll hang around too.  I wonder who will show up next.....Super freak?  Familyman??? Zap??? TurobTim???
NW! How's it going? Still got the American bull dog? That would be great if they showed up. I kept in touch with zap via fb. However i have not heard from him in a long while.

My best friend (American Bulldog) passed away Boid.  It devastated the entire family.  He had an issue with his heart that the vet told us would be OK if we didn't over exert him.  He passed away in his sleep peacefully.  He wasn't that old but at least he went without pain or suffering.  Being as stupid as I am I picked up another one.  This guy's heart seems unstoppable.  Got him from a Buick guy too.  The vet is impressed with his build and health.  He is almost 2 now and weighs 97lbs....all muscle.  Spoiled rotten and  Boid, he might be smarter than me. :O

His name is Cam.

The limited use it has seen has been with a PTE Turbo Saver installed as well.  I hadn't even run it on the car to make the 'witness' marks so that the wastegate hole could be enlarged.  A board member put up a TE45a in my price range and I purchased that.  The TE44 was driven from New Orleans to Bowling Green KY because I was using a 'slap freakin wore out' stock turbo and refused to make the trip with that POS on the car.  I had a brain fart and thought that was ~300 miles but it was a little over 600 miles.  That is the extent of use that turbo has seen.  It was removed from the car in Bowling Green and the TE45a was put on the car up there.

Here are a few.  I'll email them as well.  There is ZERO shaft play with this turbo.  No up/down or in/out.  It spins smoothly.  Its practically brand new.

One of the things I refuse to do is try to talk someone down off of a price.  Well I may make an offer to a private seller if I can't justify or afford the asking price but I understand when they can't if they can't.  When it comes to vendors I get my price breaks by buying from the vendors in person at shows and avoid having to pay shipping.  They'll usually have show prices that are better than regular price and thats the deal.  Never do I approach a vendor and say can you knock another $$$$ off?  They are already competing with each other and have to cater to the customer.  What sense is it to knock them so deep into their cost that it becomes not worth it to continue servicing our market?  Now I do expect the full support of the vendor should a warranty or information or installation instruction be needed.  I feel thats built into the price and if you low ball them then you are cutting into these services.  What vendor wants to be tied to your needs after the sale when they only broke even on the sale?  It works both ways.

Because I do my own work with the exception of WELDING,  this really doesn't appy to service but if I needed it I would handle it the same way.  Actually even more so because its the labor that you are buying.  I didn't ask for a single discount from my machinist when he built my engine.....I expected him not to cut any corners either.

First I have to put my hands on the converter.  I have stuff stored in different locations right now.  When I moved a few years back I left some stuff in a storage shed at the old house.  Let me get over there and poke around.  How does $625 shipped for the turbo and converter sound?  and you can send payment via paypal, check, MO, or any other way thats convenient to you.

Hey are you negotiating for Charles?  I just realized that Charles started this thread.

Somewhere I have a restalled stock converter.  Its restalled to 2800rpm.  If I can remember where the hell I've stored it I'll give you a damn cheap price so that you'll have all that you need.  These are parts that I wouldn't hesitate to put on my own car.  I'm selling them because I've upgraded to higher performance stuff and I need to need to have a little cash-stash to fill in the needs on the 'Buick Communtiy Rebuild' of my car.

Well if the 60 is going for $600 I'll go down to $500.  Just let me know if you want it.
