If the engine is out, I would check all the bearings, seals, etc. I would also check for main cap 'walk'.


As most here probably know, you can easily 'roll' out the block half main bearings. I use a soft rivet. Aluminum or copper.


All can be easily done w/o removing the crank. You can also check the crank for straight in the block. The bearing will tell what it needs, as a rule.


If you run into anything questionable, post a picture here. IMO, this forum should be able to walk you though nearly any problem.

Guy can I simply pull the caps and check for wear?
I’m far from an engine guru.
I’m just concerned if I do this will I be creating issues or disturbing something?

Lol.....my thoughts exactly. Seen a lot of Hybrids done throughout the boards and have a ton of respect for most of them. But I wanted one that was different and unsuspecting. I’ve never seen a Bonny done in this fashion.
It MAY look so tame looking and quite, I may have get a personalized plate to antagonize.

The zero is not centered yet, it should bring the 7 up with it. That is the way it works. 4 of the 5 numbers are aligned, the 5th will probably align in .1 km.

There is a fine plastic thread that keeps the rollers aligned. Nearly all odometers that roll over 100k will pull the thread loose.

If this car has 23k mi or 85k mi, it is about as clean as it gets for light colored interior. The floor pan  appears excellent. Are the driver door hinge pins/bushings tight?

Yes, I was check the DS door closer today and it opens and closes as perfect as one could expect. Very solid

Most do not start with a car this solid.JMO

Judging by alignment I’d say it’s 137k but I’m not an odometer expert reading these things.

I agree Steve, it’s seems too clean, especially for that light colour. I will do some serious underside investigation of the suspension ect in the spring.
The car is stored now. I will work through the winter months collecting the required parts.
I’ll snap a pic of the odometer, maybe that will be an indication for the “private eyes”
