crazy idea
« on: August 14 2013, 12:17:55 AM »
Just got powerlogger and will be installing soon. I do.have a sm and plan on.using the updated chip naturally, but I.was wondering if im crazy to get rid of.my guages. Boost and fp. I will.be hooking up everything through the pl and looking at it on.sm. this is 100%  street weekend car. I figured I can clean.up the interior a bit..

Keep in mind the Powerlogger only has two AUX inputs other than boost and EGT.  Is there going to be enough slots available to get rid of all the gauges you want to get rid of?

I would keep the boost, but I did away with my fp on one car.  Much easier to keep your eye on the boost gauge and more likely to notice a busted wastegate hose that way (or the boost suddenly going away) plus I always check the vacuum side of the gauge when I crank it up for signs that something might be awry.

So far, the fp has worked well but then I bought a good sensor and not one of those brands like Autometer that is prone to failure

when you replace it, if you are unlucky, try the wb 762 from this place  http://www.motorsportsinnovations.com/wide_band_o2_files/WB_Pressure.htm
