well guys it seems my seach is over... a friend is comming down from ATL to the BOP this weekend, i have been hounding him bout his old stock LSD rear and i lost contact for a while with moving and working. well he told me today he is comming down sat and says i can HAVE it... no charge. he needs the space for his bike in the garage.  :supz:  but of course ima try to get some $ together to give to him. but that means 1 less thing to buy for the buick and 1 more thing to help get me workin on her again. i guess i will do the suspension while i am takin it out. any do's or dont's i should know bout when im doin this swap?

Change the fluid in it, and use the GM limited slip additive.
If you want to get fancy you could go synthetic, but not necessay
if you're on a budget. Make sure you have the right drive shaft.
If I remember correctly, you had a 7.5" read in the car. The
drive shaft with the 7.5" is approx. 1 inch longer than the shaft thats
used with the 8.5". If you're changing the rear suspension, the UMI
parts advertised here seem to be of good quality for a very fair price.

When dropping the axle, watch out for your brake lines, don't stretch them. I like to pull the shocks, and then leave the axle on the pumpkin on a floor jack. Then I push down on one side and then the other. The springs will fall right out.
