If your considering them, my advice is dont!! Street tires hook just as good. Tried them because they were the only company that made a 17 inch that was 28 inches tall. With my 26 inch tall Nittos I had 1.6 60 ft times and could leave with 10-14 lbs boost and hook. These let go on 2 lb launches and my best 60 ft of the day was 1.98........tr ied from 18 lbs air and dropped down to 14 and still no traction. Very disappointed!!

Tried everything from long burnouts to just a quick" clean em off"  spin. They were worse hot which I thought was weird but my Nittos hooked best after a short burn out also. Other thing that bummed me out was with the 26 inchers my 1/4 MPH was 108 with the 28's same 108MPH. My et also suffered..... from 12.1 to 12.4 but that's cause my 60 ft sucks now

You're not picking up MPH cuz the convertor in your car sucks. This tire thing...is getting old. Grab a pair of used 28 by 9 MT slicks...and any old used pair of GM 8 inch rims with something near a 4 inch backspace.

What did the track do to prep? If this was a test n tune activity, I doubt much unless some of the big names showed up. If it was a bunch of street cars with treaded tires you can't expect to get much from the track.

I use the 16"/28".. Only ones I could get in 16's. work fine for my car. Can only get 0 psi with the damm brakes. High 1.5s /low 1.6s.. Trying to get the brakes workin better for Oct 31st.. Last track day locally.

I thought the M&H's had a pretty soft compound so I would have expected them to bite harder.  Nitto's don't like to be overheated but I would have thought the M&H's would like a bit more warm up.  An old rule of thumb says to heat them until the smoke turns from white to light gray and stop at that point.

On a 12 sec car, I would not expect much increase on the top end mph but the longer footprint would be expected to improve the short times a little as there is more rubber on the track at one time during the leave.

That takes us back to the track surface condition assuming the 28" M&H's are new tires and the rubber is soft on them.

Was it only you having difficulty with the short times?

Scoob....consi dered converter replacement and called Jack Cotton to buy one...he recommended the tire option first
Texas.....its a "muscle car" day so quite a bit of track prep and maintenance thru day, same track prep that the nitto's had run on
Grumpy....how much air do you use and what burnout to get them to hook
reality....sli ps at home, will try to put them up
Steve....tires are brand new, some hooked and some didn't, it was a cold day, no sun and about 50 degrees

Almost sounds like it needed more air, to me.  The tires may have been squirming. Have you googled for comments about them?

Might try a different pressure gauge as well.  Some of them can be way off.

Have you tried other pressures on the street? Other burn outs, length, speed? These are new and will need to be workedd on for an optimal result.

Any time I hear "oh, there were lots of cars", then you say muscle car day and I think treaded tires tearing up "the groove". And then you say it was cold out. Recipe for no hook.

Called M&H for some info. They said 17-18 lbs at the track, about 3 second burnout, don't overheat them. Told him my 26 inch Nittos hooked great, he thinks my rear set up was good for the 26 inchers but now its off for a 28 inch tire. I didn't check my sway bar angle with these but who knows. On line reviews most people really like these and they hook well with cars with a lot more HP than I'm dishing out so its gotta be me or the car set up

I’d say track prep, radials are inconsistent on marginal tracks. Did you verify you tire pressure with another gauge?

I know it sounds stupid, but did you try hitting it with more power?
