that's nice!
-
If they gave me one I wouldnt put it on my car. That said, I think its great that they are putting forth the money and effort to support our vehicles.
They are a great vendor and I have always been given great service and products from them.
Hydroboost FTW!

heck yeah!
agreed with all above comments.
highway stars is awesome!
I won't be putting the powermaster back on mine unless I ever sell it.
heres a question, what other parts that are no longer available for our cars should be reproduced?
rear quarters? center consoles? seems alot of center consoles I see are cracked
-
Belt tensioner
Decent maf that doesn't require a $200 translator.
-
Power antenna
-
Power antenna
Oh yeah! My antenna failed this summer, fired up the car and the antenna motor kept buzzing. I unplugged it for the time being, so technically I still have power antenna as long as I plug it in and unplug it! :icon_lol:
-
don't think the repair kits are available any more and the motor is burned up on one of mine
-
I put a cable in mine but I couldn't get the motor to raise and lower it reliably. It quit the last time I went to bowling green I believe 91 or 92, so it sat unplugged a long time.
-
the tooling for the tensioners is apperantly available cause wasn't highway stars making them? they where just priced through the stratosphere.
agreed on the maf too. I will never buy a reman again. except I would probably take a chance on one of the rebuilds kirban does. has anybody ever had one of his fail?
gbody parts has rebuild kits for the stock antennas. course I know some may have issues with Brian. :hmm

AFAIK> Gates made a last batch for him and that price was reflective of his costs.
He was even going to try for another based on their responses.
-
In my mind this is the type of product that some of the other vendors should go in with Glen and pony up for the production cost. Cardone who currently rebuilds the power master is the only game out there. I just don't believe they a re selling a top notch product when I here horror stories on other boards about their MAF sensors. I would like to see top quality products being made and all of our vendors selling them. Hope these units turn out well.
-
rebuilders like Cardone only replace what is obviously broken....so you don't get a like new product. The only difference between powermasters and hydroboost is that the PM contains a motor and pump and the hydroboost uses steering pump pressure...tha t makes it simpler, but not a whole lot more dependable in my opinion...eith er one provides more assist pressure.
-
For those opting for vacuum brakes I can highly recommend the Russell SS brake lines that replace the 3 flex hoses. Firms up the brake pedal immensely.
-
yep, it sure can be felt
-
Well, Dennis has just indicated the MBM have contacted him , so it looks like the new PM won't be an exclusive just in the same way any shop could go to Cardone
-
Off the top of my head
Belt Tensioner
Shifter cable
Exhaust hanger
radiator
AC lines
Seat foam for front seats that isn't monte carlo that I had to modify
Rear seat foam.

There is someone that makes the exhaust hanger on tb.com that does it right (the exhaust hanger that comes off the transmission bracket). I'll see if I can find that information again.
There are lots of drop in radiators that work perfect. Unless you're really wanting a stock appearing one...then that is different.
Shifter cables or those little white plastic/teflon shifter pieces that go in the shifter assembly? I think have a NOS shifter cable somewhere but I didn't think they were becoming another unicorn piece.
Everything else you and other folks mentioned I would agree with.
I would add rearview mirrors with the original hard plastic mount and not soft one that warps in sunlight and falls off.
Tail lights...thoug h that might make the 4 complete NIB NOS sets I have suddenly drop in value significantly. I was going to put my kids through college with those :)
-
No shifter cable from GM anymore. No shifter cable from the parts store that fits our cars, I bought 8 of them 2 weeks ago all were wrong. Right now mine is JB welded back together. Plus if you read TB.com anyone that gets one that fits it just breaks in a few days anyways. I am going to make one out of a universal cable. (or put a column shift in the car).

Their are more I just try to block it all out.

m233roller on TB.com already responded to me that he does not rebuild them anymore.

LOL...and if you cannot understand reading, then I am not sure this helps! :D http://www.mbmbrakeboosters.com/ (http://www.mbmbrakeboosters.com/)
-
speedo gears for inside the transmission are no longer made.
-
Normally it's the one in the end of the cable... 30 teeth for 26" tire
-
I am not 100% but I believe the 11 tooth drive gear is no longer made.
-
Some more research shows the 11 tooth drive gear is gm part number 8634965. Now have to find one.
-
so you don't have a regal tranny?
-
I have a BRF on the floor of my shed. :D
I just found out today when you buy a trans from extreme automatics where they use their own VB, it doesn't come with the correct speedo gears. I wish I would have known ahead of time I would have either found them, or used my old ones. Now I have to drop the pan to change. I would have corrected before I filled with fluid.
-
Looks like green(10) with black(27) will work as a substitute.

and yeah, 10/27 gives the same ratio
-
Already beat you to it, I ordered them both from the place out of Louisiana. I tried to go direct to their website but they didn't have the 2004r parts listed there they had everything else. So I went back and purchased through ebay. I figured direct might have been cheaper and saved them ebay fees. I have big projects going on at work all week so I don't have time to call them.
-
MSRP is rumored to be $1600.00 - I will pass.
-
Aww come on $1600 is just the initial investment. After that you also have the cost of new front end sheet metal.

Glen says the pricing is not determined yet

I guess its pretty cool that somebodys making such a part that was such low production.
other than the 85 1/2' through 87 turbobuicks, wasn't it just some buick station wagons that had the powermaster?
-
It was used on some Pontiacs and on some motor homes as well as the station wagons
-
It would be nice if it was affordable. The power assist was better with the power masterl until it failed.

All 86 B-Body wagons came with a powermaster. The angle/size of the fluid reservoir on the B-Body powermaster is different form the turbo Regals/GNs/GNXs.
-
awesome!
thanks for the info guys!
I love little bits of info like that, don't know why
-
I've been interested to see what the price is on the NEW Powermasters. I have good brakes on both cars, GN #1 has Powermaster and GN #2 has Vacuum. I can argue both sides of the argument!!!!

I think some diesel cars had power master also. Can you confirm that?
