Where the heck have you been 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Just because someone wants $200k for them doesn't mean they got it. :chin:

When did they sell? Everyone seen they were for sale. And he obviously didn't get $200k for them.

sold at Barrett Jackson in Arizona for $67,100 last November

If you read the article the guy made the owner an offer and because no one was willing to pay a big price phoned the guy up to accept his offer. But I did find the other info..https://www.hotrod.com/articles/twinz-barn-find-1987-buick-grand-nationals-sell-at-the-2019-barrett-jackson-scottsdale-auction/ (https://www.hotrod.com/articles/twinz-barn-find-1987-buick-grand-nationals-sell-at-the-2019-barrett-jackson-scottsdale-auction/)

A guy had them stored. I believe the guy was a member of a family that owned a dealership. This guy, the original owner (if you can own something without titling it/them) decided he would sell them for 200K, but no one offered him that. Later, William and Shawn went and looked at them. Shawn was the money man and offered far less which insulted the guy. They left but somewhat later, the guy called Shawn and accepted the offer.
The cars had been parked since they were new. One had apparently been used as a demonstrator and the other one had virtually no miles. They had the usual problems of any car that has been parked for 33 years and William set out to get them back into driving condition and then they were detailed.
Shawn put them on Ebay and shill bidders ran them up to a very high price and then disappeared rather than actually buying them. Some of the classy guys in the Buick world, I suspect, that could not stand it that Shawn and William had bought them.
Some magazines got word of it and they got a lot of publicity. They then decided to sell them at Scottsdale last fall. They sold as a pair and some one bought them. Given the prices that GN's with low mileage are selling, he got a pretty good deal.
Shawn made a little money on the deal but probably not as much as he had expect given the the fervor of the phony bidding on EBay.

I knew about the original owner and the background info and it being put on E-bay but I thought it was by the original owner. I remember it was some crazy price.

And there lies the problem! It's like all the criminal money laundering that goes on. The criminals buy all this real estate driving up market values and in turn driving up property taxes. Why would they stop that? :hmm
