Old Enuf To Remember This?
« on: August 14 2017, 08:25:22 AM »
I remember A&W bringing food out right up to when I was in my early teens. Wish they had of held on until I at LEAST got my license.

Back in the 70's A&W in Winnipeg had one of the stores on Portage Ave (I think?) & the girls came out to the car. At one point I think they may have been wearing roller skates altho I wouldn't bet on it. Good memories.

We had two competing A&W's within a mile of each other.
Once we had cars in high school the after school root beer became a ritual.

We had a place called "The Tropical Treat" It was a drive in with car side service and you ordered thru a setup at the car. a great hangout, rarely a fight, most of us knew each other from the various schools. Usually a couple good burnouts tho!!! It's leveled and now a Burger King
