What is a Cinco de Mayo party?

Cinco de Mayo—or the fifth of May—commemorates the Mexican army's 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War (1861-1867). A relatively minor holiday in Mexico, in the United States Cinco de Mayo has evolved into a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage, particularly in areas with large Mexican-American populations. Cinco de Mayo traditions include parades, mariachi music performances and street festivals in cities and towns across Mexico and the United States.

Obama is having a Cinco de Mayo party at the White House tonight. To keep with tradition, guest will have to jump the fence to get in!

Well, sold my 78' Chevy Big10 454. More than doubled my $$$$$$$ ! ! !  :icon_super:

It's now on its way around the world. A collector from Saudi Arabia area bought it. Said he has a huge collection of American cars. His favorites are 60-70's Mopars!

Sad to see it go, but $$$$$$$ makes me HAPPY ! ! ! :D

I've always liked that body style...shame you sold the WE4 though.  Do you still have any TRs in the stable?

Nope, but I hope to get a white 87T someday!

I took my WE4 to the body shop to get a quote on paint,..... W O W $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ ! ! ! Decided it was time to let someone else finish it. I had rebuilt almost all the drive train.

The 78' Big 10 is a twin to the 77' I had in high school. I had to have it. It's loaded with every option, including the factory tach!

Well,

After all the work I done to my 87 WE4, I sold it. Missing it already!

Bought me a 78 Chevy Big 10 factory 454 with only 52K.

Friend removed this from his car to install an aluminum reinforcement.

Don't want to send it to the scrap yard, so make me an offer! (will post photos soon)

Send me an PM if you're interested.

And a follow up post by the resident upholstery moderator:

incuding a link to a source for regal foam:

Hello,

I was wanting to harvest the foam from the passengers seat I bought and use it in my original drivers seat when I have new seat covers installed.

Think they misunderstood what I'm wanting to install. Not the "whole" bottom part of the seat.

Thanks for your leg work on this matter!

Hello,

Since I finally got the car running again, I'm going to check on some interior parts/prices (seat covers, upper door panels, and headliner. (already bought new carpet) Bought two complete front GN seats for parts ($50). (Have already installed the power seat track on the drivers side) Will the passengers side foam fit the drivers side correctly? (Thinking it has less wear then the drivers side)

Then (if I am not too sticker shocked) I need to get a quote for a professional paint job! (clear coat from back in the early 90's is pealing off the hood and trunk lid) Texas heat is rough on paint and interior. Luckily there is no rust ! ! ! :)

Bitch/Whine/Moan / Re: AC Oil Filter PF-52 Losing Prime ? ? ?

Hello everyone,

Decided to take the car for a drive tonight. Weather was P E R F E C T!

Fired it up, had good oil pressure! (still have the Fram Extended Guard oil filter on it until I can go by Napa this Saturday)

Took it out and drove it to the car wash, finally! (10 miles from my home) Started it up, and it STILL had oil pressure ! ! !

Drove it about 60 miles tonight. Several stops and starts from red lights. :023: Had the boost set to 15 psi. (TT street chip is set for 18psi and 93 octane)

Everything went well ! ! ! :icon_super:

Which Wix filter should we use in lieu of the AC PF52?

This is the one I found:

Throw those filters away and get a good filter for God's sake. Seriously. Get a Wix or anything but what you're using now. We've had more problems with the cheap filters than you even want to know. The last time was on breaking in an engine. It had good oil pressure initially and after break in it wouldn't do more than 30 PSI max. Changed the phram to a Wix and everything was good again.

The Fram Extended Guard filter was just to test it on Sunday (Napa was closed). Going to get a Wix filter from Napa this week.

Had used AC filters on my other gm vehicles with no issues before. Would have thought it should have been a quality part!
